Yes, he's my 2nd favourite United player ever after Cantona so it's just a case of hoping things go well for him because of that.

Plymouth is a tough job, while he didn't manage to keep Derby up of course, we all know he was operating under very difficult circumstances and made a prety good go of it all things considered. Perhaps being a small-budget Championship club Plymouth see/saw him as someone can work without much money.

They should have expected ups and downs then. Maybe he can't work on a penny a day.

I can also see him getting more time than he’s owed because he’s Wayne Rooney. Argyle is my second team and I’ve been to a few games at home park this season - the fans still sing his name.

The results are all over the place. Plymouth have a few good players. Whittaker and Cissoko I like.

He is in some ways not dissimilar to Eth in a ways, doesn't care much about keeping the ball or the midfield, more focused on immediately attacking and being very direct.

I honestly couldn’t say, as I only see the home games which usually end up ok :lol:

You can’t say the players aren’t trying though, they give everything. It’s usually defensive lapses or the opposition just having some quality if things do go wrong.

They're trying to play a style they don't really know how to play, and even if they did they just don't have the quality of players to do it consistently in that division. Not to mention they lost (by a mile) the best keeper in the EFL last summer.

At home the crowd, momentum and away teams being more cautious help see them to decent results but away they're sitting ducks.

Oxford at home next is massive, with their away form they pretty much need close to maximum points against (likely) fellow bottom half sides at Home Park to stay up.
 
Mt father in law and uncle are season ticket holders at Home Park and went to the Bristol City game yesterday, Argyle were woeful apparently and the after shipping ten goals in two away games, the mood is turning against Rooney now. If they slip into the relegation zone, his time could be up. They were lucky Hull also lost yesterday, but Hull have two games in hand, it's not looking good!
 
Should quit and challenge Jake Paul, that's where his destiny lies.
 
I just can’t ever imagine a scenario in which Wayne Rooney makes for a successful coach. I know there’s a lot more to it than this, but he’s never once given an interview where you feel you’re listening to somebody who has a clear idea as to how he wants his football to be played.
 
Not gonna make it is he? He and Lampard are about to finally close the chapter on their attempts to forcefully become successful managers.
 
At least Lampard got to manage Chelsea. Wazza will never get near United's dugout.

Once players get past the novelty of being managed by Wayne Rooney and the reputation he held as player, there doesn't seem to be much there.
Outside of his lad-ish charm he doesn't come across particularly informative when he talks about management on the Overlap.
 
Just don’t see it. Maybe working as a coach may be his future, or just be a pundit. He’s surprised me at how well he’s come across during analysis when on Sky.

Apparently has two games to save his job, both games are at home though so it could buy him some time to turn things around seems unlikely though.
 
Sounds like Plymouth are close to getting some US investment that will give them a mid-table Championship budget so there should be money to spend in January if Rooney can get to that point.
 
Plymouth were mission impossible from the start. Pep wouldn't have got a tune out of those players. Hope his career doesn't end at Plymouth and he gets another chance to prove himself somewhere else.If Dyche leaves Everton and Moyes comes in, maybe assistant.

Even if Moyes came back to Everton why would he be Moyes assistant? Didn’t Pep say he can join his staff anytime he wants cause he is a legend of the game?

Plymouth under amber warning from Storm Darragh for Saturday. Merseyside derby too, quite a few scousers on RAWK speculating about that one. Blackpool in League One etc. Anywhere near the west coast.

Wouldn't it depend on what is meant by assistant? Not that Moyes is going back to Everton.

Old school definition = assistant manager, 2nd in command

Newer terminolgy = one of a few assistant coaches / coaching assistants, could be a fairly minor role

Would have to think lots of people would rather be the first of those at their boyhood club than the second of those under Pep who might be fecking off soon anyway. Think he gets on with/ has respect for Moyes too. Again, can't see Moyes going back there at all and Rooney's still in a job for now.
