Think that's the best position for him to play, he looked much better tonight.
Just realised he wasn't called up for England. He needs to move (and move wisely) if he wants to go to the next World Cup. Southgate says he's a 10 and name dropped Lallana, Alli and Barkley. Seems to be an uphill battle for Rooney.
In terms of finally getting him off the wage bill this is the best thing that could have happened, also gives us leverage on his next move too.

Comes on and helps the team lose it's head, foolishly ruined our last chance to attack because he lacked any self control. Costing the team chances because of your own ego is not the type of "leadership" and "experience" anyone needs.
I thought he brought a bit of calmness and composure to the game. The likes of Lingard and Rashford were losing it out there, barely creating any chances and losing their heads in a frustrating game for us.
