You know what, that isn't a bad idea. I can't remember the last time we scored from one. keeping the ball in the opponents half isn't a bad thing.

And I've Booney is taken them, then getting the ball over the first man is a plus.

Possibly against Leicester (where we got two), with Blind taking them.

That's brilliant.

Is he allowed to tweet as his own self again?

I just want to say how impressed I am With the way Rooney has dealt with becoming more of a squad player instead of a first team regular.

By all accounts he has been a total professional, hasn't paddied or briefed against the manager like so many aging players who get told they are no longer first choice.

Well done Rooney!

Legend. I love that he is staying under the radar, taking on his new role without kicking up a fuss.

All over the press that the club will allow him to leave before the Chinese window closes in about a month. Quite possible this will happen this period rather than the Summer.

Same here but it could be a case of Mourinho having given him a long rope to hang himself effectively letting his performances turn the tide of public opinion against him. His demotion was way overdue so the delay left him with no leg to stand on whilst Ibrahimovic, Pogba and De Gea are the new leaders of the squad so he hasn't had the weapons to fight back if he wished to.

Not a snowflakes chance in hell that he'll leave before the season is out and I very much doubt he would go to China. That's effectively retiring from the national team (and captaincy) at the same time as leaving United (and captaincy).

I wouldn't let Rooney go this month. Yes, I know he's not the player he was etc, but his form had improved since the start of the season and we're still in four competitions. His experience alone makes him valuable.

Let him go in the summer.

I suspect he might be starting to face up to the fact that he won't win his first choice XI spot back. Which automatically makes his England Captaincy in doubt especially considering how much further down the road of his deterioration that will be. He is United Captain in name only really. And I realky think the attack he underwent for drinking all night got to him as everyone else was clubbing but only him as Captain got lambasted. He might decide to enjoy a quiet and very wealthy semi-retirement in China where he is adored.

This China story is too good to be true. I expect him to see out his contract.

As I said above, I personally don't believe it but it's interesting that a few papers are running with it. I wonder if it's sourced from one paper or if there was a leak from one of the sides for whatever reason.

Its the only way, aside from MLS, that we are going to be able to get shut before the end of his contract.

The people who think he would go to Everton are mistaken, there is no way he is good enough these days.

What's this about? Seen it mentioned a few places
There's a clear difference between tweets Rooney himself makes - the past two, 'hi pal do you need picking up in the morning' etc. - and those done by a personal rep/someone controlling his account.

I agree. He seems to be handling this situation well and tbh it can't be easy.

Nah, don't see him leaving before the summer. Its not like he is throwing tantrums. His attitude has been good since being benched. With the amount of games we are playing before the season ends I think he will have a role to play. Come summer, he can feck off to MLS, China or wherever he wants.

Would not mind a huge transfer to China. He's got his record, provided f.a. in most of his games for the last 18 months (or more), and we'll hopefully give the spot to someone who'll actually contribute.

Man Utd 4:0 Wigan
I would be over the moon if he went. He's absolutely dire.

How can't you enjoy when we somehow make the space and pass the ball to him and then his first touch is that negative kind, "back touch". He probably does it out of respect for opposition players so they can return in their position.

I'm not sure where he's playing. He's just sort of getting in other people's way.
That's been a standard Rooney performance for ages. He goes where he wants and does what he wants. As Allerdyce said, what can a manager do to stop him?
