Disappointed with Mourinho for bringing Wayne on at half time today. Really limited us tactically.

As a result, we we had to sacrifice Martial for Mata which left us without anyone to drive at Lpool's young RB. We were then unable to bring on Rashford.

Was quite poor today; touch, passing, control etc - as expected. His off the ball movement is atrocious also - after seeing the movement of Mata, Herrera, Ibra, Mkhi when linking up it stands out much more now.

Sentimentality aside, had no place on the pitch today. If we HAD to bring him on should have been for an extra forward in the closing minutes of the game - however Fellaini has become more useful for this role as of late.

Has a player ever regressed as much as this?

I feel sorry for the poor soul who'll have to compile his match 'performance' video.

If it weren't for his involvement in the goal that would've been a pathetic performance, even more since he came on fresh. Actually, regardless of his involvement in the goal, that was just... Sad.

The two instances that annoyed me the most were was 1) when he tried that pathetic diagonal pass but found a Liverpool at the centre of the pitch and 2) when he had four options ahead of him and decided he needed to try that chipped shot that only worked once in 10 years, and ended up being a blocked shot.

But after he fluked a goal with a mishit shot we were told by pundits that we were mental for writing him off, and he was still world class?

Enough is enough. He's crap, he needs to be sold. And enough about the bloody record. Sticking him in the team hoping he limps over the line to get a record isn't going to do us any favours. We're better off without him in the team.

Obviously he isn't the player he once was but I think he did ok today. Looked sloppy and off the pace most of the time but still made things happen which is more than can be said for some. Had a massive hand in our goal and gave the team some fight. He should have come on for Pogba though not Martial.

The worst aspect about him these days is his horrible ball retention ability. He loses 90% of duels and has no dribbling ability what so ever.
Spot on, unfortunately. Wayne's past it, at least against Klopp's pressing team.

What does that even mean?

The only notable challenge he made was when he stamped on Milner and should have been sent off. He was a shambles.

People who think he's gonna get the record by scoring the winner against Liverpool or City are deluding themselves. He's going to break the record via a penalty against Wigan or a mishit against Hull. Something like that.

What was Mourinho's thinking by bringing him on instead of, say, Mata? It was a baffling decision and one that really hindered us.

Yeah, a wasted sub. Having Rooney instead of Martial for the last 25-30 minutes was a shock.

He gets the ball so often in those positions near the corners of the box, sort of squares up to the defender then just passes it back. He's got nothing, no threat at all.

And the commentator today mentioned he'd lost 10lbs in the past few weeks. What is he doing being nearly a stone overweight in the first place.

It's good that he's not an automatic starter anymore but still annoying that he's usually the first sub when available. Today was clearly not a game for Rooney with the way Liverpool were pressing. Mata or Rashford would have been better options.

Yeah they are happy to praise him for losing weight, but I've never heard them mention him being overweight before he lost it. The Rooney love-in is nauseating. Can't wait until we're rid of him.

Rashford would've been the more sensible sub here. Ibra could've dropped deep giving Rashford to hang onto the shoulder of the last defender.

Particularly as it was clear our tactic was just to hoof long balls to Ibra and see what would stick. If that's the game you are going to play, you need fast players like Rashford and Martial, not fecking Rooney!

Hopefully that 250 comes up soon so José doesn't ge too far into this hunch business. You heard the guy talking about how Wayne's greatest day is still to come (when he breaks the record).

If we are going to be giving him minutes just so he can score No. 250, he better score it quick. Bringing him on instead of Rashford was madness.

Now he had a massive hand in the goal? Massive? The ball was touched by three players and the goal post in between before it went in. I doubt people will call it a "massive" hand if it was by say Darmian. The love in is serious.

Destroyed every meaningful attack. If not every most of them.

He should have not been subbed in.

The press really should be asking the question as it was so blatantly obvious that it was going to be a bad decision. We all know they won't though.

He let that record breaking goal get to him. The lack of effort annoying, no excuse at all there

When Mata scored against West Ham I asked what Mourinho would do when Rooney came back in terms of who his first go-to substitute would be. Rooney should be behind Mata and Rashford at this point.

we could have won it keeping rooney on the bench, jose fecked up... hes not good at absolutely anything let alone brilliant or mufc level, mata would have score in one of the few half chances he or did better to setup his team mates

Tonight was his chance to shine, but he failed miserably. Now he can break the record against an irrelevant team, and get it out of the way.

I am just amazed at his physical deterioration.

He looked the oldest player on the field out there.

At least he contributed for the goal. Besides that, he looked like a fan who won a raffle to participate. His decline is puzzling to me.

There were a fair few out there today who were just as bad. He's not good enough anymore and don't get me wrong, I'm not saying bringing him on was the right decision but it all comes across as a bit cringy to me. Some of you clearly enjoy criticising him and it doesn't add up to me.

My view is that he's a United legend, he's given me some memories for life and for that he'll always have my appreciation.
