And to think he wanted to reinvent himself as a center mid when if he just worked hard to get into shape and get that fire back he would be a dynamic attacking player again..

Jose will never get credit on here or in the media but he's the reason Rooney is fired up. Excellent man management. You could also argue he's getting martial and mkhi hungry also

Great performance, but motherf****** got that yellow so he can't repeat this vs. Everton.
 
Good performance. The speed we had on the break and the off the ball running really made the team look more threatening and Rooney seemed to enjoy playing at that tempo. Lets hope he can keep this streak of form going.

Wow, didn't expect that. Probably his most complete performance in years. In typical Rooney fashion though goes and gets himself banned :lol:
 
His best game since Fergie retired for me, it might not have had a goal or an assist but that's why stats aren't everything, his work as the fulcrum was the tightest and most accurate it's been in a long time.
 
Say what you want to say, but Rooney thrives under intelligent movement and quick runners around him. Yes, he was out of form and all that, but overanalyzing his performances in vacuum is pretty useless. Like Mourinho has said, he played like the team played. Mkhitarayan, Rooney and Martial will take United to glory.
 
Played excellent today, really like this angry Rooney.
 
Something very noticeable is how Rooney always links up with good, skillful players. He always did well with Kagawa, he's already developed a good understanding with Mkhi and he and Ibra are starting to look good together as well.
 
My motm for the match. Needs to play a lot more like this, make it the norm rather than the anomaly.
 
Really thought he was finished but he showed again tonight he still has a lot left in him. I would still drop him for Pogba against Everton and keep the rest of the front four the same as tonight against West Ham.

Rooney has looked good in the last few games but I have to completely disagree with what you said here. For the past few years he has hindered many of the good players he has had around him due to his poor link up play.
 
Can't believe I'm disappointed that he's suspended for our next game. He was great today and has been in good form lately. Not sure what's going on but long may it continue.

I've always found him to have good understanding with the likes of Mata, Kagawa and now Mkhi.

Needs to calm down a tad, as he might get sent off one of these days, especially as the refs don't seem to like us this season
 
Superb today looked like he had turned the clock back 5 years.Delighted for him that is the talismanic figure we need.

rooney's been always shit against toffies even back in his golden years..

Mata is still superior to him and we need to get in the side him and Pogba so for me Rooney should start from the bench anyway even after today¨s impressive performance
