Doom-monger obsessed with Herrera & the M.E.N.
Daily Mail have reported it as well. You know England players would celebrate the opening of an envelope. The Sun pay for stories.

I have no doubt that he likes a drink but I just find this exaggerated to say the least. If he was that pissed there would be camera phone video.Daily Mail have reported it as well. You know England players would celebrate the opening of an envelope.
The English media isn't in his pocket like some would believe. They didn't cause a firestorm when he was dropped and he's not immune to bullshit stories. Gerrard, Beckham and Terry have all had their share in recent years.pretty scathing accusation to make against the England captain if not true
I thought he'd looked fitter recently but this is just a reminder of why he's in such poor shape in the first place.
You can't even make this up. Just before England face off against the mighty midfield of Spain, Rooney bottles it with a "minor" knee injury, the same week his team mates are being slated as mentally weak cowards who couldn't play with a broken toe and a broken leg recovery. And instead of the experienced captain to nurse this "minor" knee injury, he smashes himself up by gate crashing a wedding. Now my question is this, if this happened to another United player, would the fanboys be this quiet about this or is it just another case of another rule for Rooney? Or is he also not brave enough to captain his country against Spain at Wembley because of a "minor" injury? How anyone can sympathise with him is beyond me. Alcohol is so bad for the bodies recovery. He's under the microscope right now and should be clean as a whistle yet he's getting fecked up like that on national team duty while captain.
Knee injury my arse.
This. Twitter is full of people saying stuff like 'Person gets drunk at wedding, big deal'. Idiots. How anyone can sympathise with him is beyond me. Alcohol is so bad for the bodies recovery. So he was steaming drunk at some randomers wedding until the early hours and yet nobody got anything on video on their phone?
Yea ok.
If you'd been there he might have.Feck me, Wayne.
Hey Wayne, how about we pay you £300 to wreck your body, the tool of your trade, while in recovery? This. Twitter is full of people saying stuff like 'Person gets drunk at wedding, big deal'. Idiots.
If you'd been there he might have.
Unlucky.
This. He surely knows this, so either he doesn't care or he can't help himself.*If it's true*
I get that athletes occasionally need to have a life but experience says a heavy night until the early hours as a 30 year old messes up the body for days.
Even if his powers of recovery are amazing, he's a guy in the twilight of his career, lacking match sharpness and fitness, dropped and under pressure at club and national level, facing huge media/fan criticism at a time when he needs to knuckle down and take care of himself...well at best, it doesn't look good and there'll be more scrutiny on him.
It just adds to the fuel that his lack of discipline had contributed to a premature downfall and maybe even diminished his potential. Even if none of this applies, it's pretty stupid.

He even got benched at a wedding.

If by life, you mean consuming loads of alcohol, I think you are being nice. With the Olympics just passed, you hear the testimonies of how some of these Olympians train day in and day out and treating their bodies like absolute temples for 4 years, just to participate in an even that last only a few seconds. Yet how much do they earn to train so hard and so selflessly? Yet we have a captain of the biggest club in the world and the biggest footballing nation, being paid £300k/w for what he loves doing and he goes to do that. I find it funny when the press and pundits make fun of how vain Ronaldo is because he apparently takes care of his body way too much. If you have an alcohol problem, you should not be entrusted with such a responsibility, neither should you be a professional athlete. I don't think Rooney has an alcohol problem, I just think he can't be bothered. As much as I would like Rooney out of the club, I'd like to boast and say that I am proud of our club captain, that leads by example. It's a shame when I look at how well our rival captains present themselves. I'm sorry but if this is our captain, then why are surprised at the culture of the boys in the dressing room. Disgrace, Wayne, fix up!
What you should be asking is how much should an athlete earn for sacrificing time and effort, day in and day out to represent his or her country at the biggest sporting even in history. The strain and pressure on an Olympian is way more than a footballer in any case.To be fair how much should a bloke earn for jumping into a sandpit?
I think you're being harsh here. He got pissed. Like lots of footballers have and like lots will in the future.
You can't link Rooney getting drunk with the culture of the dressing room. That's a big old non sequitur right there.

As a PT, I advise clients not to drink how much more a professional athlete. The thing becomes a joke when a highly paid athlete can not sacrifice that. Will he die if he doesn't drink? No. Will his body suffer if he drinks? Most likely. Not only did he drink, he got drunk. That is irresponsible. He earns so much money to do a job at the highest level and to be a role model and public face of Manchester United. People lose their jobs over stuff like this even when their jobs don't rely on their physicality. What is worse is that he should be in recovery, knowing fully well that Zlatan is out and we have a very difficult game in a few days. You can't get that pissed and not lose two days of solid work in training. He was once dropped for drinking about, rightfully but unfortunately it cost us a lot that season, badly too. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice...
With regards to the dressing room culture, what standard is our captain setting? Every player deserves to look at their captain and be inspired. I seriously doubt that Rooney can inspire anyone knowing fully well that this will go under the carpet with the FA and United. In a period when his team mates are being criticized left right and centre and his performances have been questionable for a few seasons, this should be the last thing that a leader should be up to, at least not in public.
Our two greatest captains, Robson and Keane, were drinkers. I agree with some of your points but there's no way you can say him getting drunk reduces his ability to inspire those around him (Though drunk or sober I don't think he has that ability).
Nobody's ever lost their job for getting drunk on a Saturday night.
When did football and in fact life become so serious?
