He's a decent squad option, it's just a shame he's on such huge wages and is captain.

If he was on 150k a week and not captain I'd be glad to keep him here. And use his experience and ability to offer cover for a number of positions.

What would you say that he offers as a squad option? Prior to this season I deemed his work rate to be an asset to the squad even if he war playing poorly but this season I really cant see anything he offers we must have better options in the reserves than him or are we that bad turned?

He's barely worth the equivalent of a reserve/youth player. You don't pay them 150k.

Thought he might be a good option coming off the bench but from what I have seen of him so far I would say he's either as bad when he starts or somehow even worse. It's just a bad situation for everyone involved, he's knows he's done and I think the management staff know this as well, it's just that no one wants to admit to or do anything about it.

It would be better for all parties if he swallowed his pride and called it a day but I dare say thats never going to happen. Someone as determined as Rooney who has been hammered his whole career is never going to give up without a fight hence this is all being dragged out over such a long period.

He has so much energy, maybe he needs an extended run of games to get his touch back. Put him in the reserves for a couple of months.

Can't stress how angry I was when he had that dreadful first touch when he would've been through 1v1. Wasn't even a fecking difficult ball to control FFS. Useless sack of shit.

Great timing...

and he won himself another 7 starts:-D actually I am gutted, he was dead cert to be dropped after his shocking showing today..

Still shit. Hope the media don't go back on the 'Rooney must play' bandwagon. He's been awful though out again.

...where the feck did that come from?

Seriously, I'm kind of annoyed! Why the feck hasn't he been doing that this season!

Almost saved us the game with a header  After that performance...
Quality goal though, it didn't look like he had those kind of shots in him anymore

Great goal, although I missed it pissing about watching the Trainspotting 2 trailer after about 88mins of dire action!
