Exactly how I feel. He's currently the butt of everyone's jokes. His confidence must have fallen through the floor.
I'm more shocked that adam mckola is verified than Rooney playing

Alan Shearer at his peak or Wayne Rooney???? Yeah ok mate, I am just another joker
Anyone who thinks Rooney was better than Shearer doesnt remember those Blackburn years for big Al (oh how i hated him)
Not even close....

Never truer words spoken!I agree 100%. Not even in the same league as a centre forward.
Had Shearer signed for us we'd have won another two European Cups.
Unfortunately, when Shearer was at his best, I think the majority of posters on here where still in nappies. If they where even born.
Why not just see his form for what it is, rather than being influenced by the media?
It's ridiculous how much importance some people put into the media. I honestly think it's to do with the way people have started to live their lives away from the real world and on social media instead.
What people say online doesn't matter. There's a reason why matchgoers, older fans and actual football managers can still see what he brings to the table. They're not as influenced by hysterics.

Its bollocks like the below quotes that get peoples backs up more than anything:
"I thought Wayne was brilliant. He has been every time he has played for England," said defender John Stones.
Midfielder Jordan Henderson said Rooney "put in a fantastic performance".

You couldn't miss it. Some of the fans who were there said they were shouting Rooney, Rooney. No they weren't. Others said they were booing the team performance, so boo at the end then. They were booing Wayne for an awful shot at goal.I missed the game, and cant find anything on youtube, was the booing really that bad?
Don't agree with the jeers. But his teammates can defend him without spouting BS. ''Put in a fantastic performance'' Just ruins your entire point.
Was clearly audible.I missed the game, and cant find anything on youtube, was the booing really that bad?
At least Eric knew he was done at the top level and had the grace and dignity to pack it in before the decline became embarrassingYep, i dont think "hater's" would "hate" him as much if it weren't for the shite spoken by ex pro's (who should know better).
I guess it started with the "Silent Domination" crap after the derby win.
Ill be honest, i was glad Cantona packed in, because he had clearly lost it that last season. ONE season, whilst Rooney has been poor, dog poor, for 3!

Scholes criticized him then completely changed his tune.It is odd how the only people who don't criticise him are ex pro's and current players.

Most of these players can see what we all see,but he's one of their own so they are less willing to say the truth.
It's a shame for Wayne, I think the fact people have pretended he is "playing well" and everything is fine with him for so long hasn't helped. It probably all feels very sudden and he hasn't had a chance to correct things, but let's face it he's been the same for about 18 months now. Maybe losing his England place will really hit home, but I doubt he will be any better.
Well they cant really say that its Southgates fault because everyone else can see he's finished.
As much as i dislike Rooney i hate booing players much more. It seems cruel and the fans are deluded if they think the manager will take their opinions on board.

Rooney's been misled by the bizarre idea that you should become a midfielder as you age. Totti's 40 and nobody is saying he should play in midfield. In fact Totti is still scoring and creating crucial goals for Roma as an impact sub. No reason at all Rooney can't manage his final days as a player in a similar way.
Once his England career is impacted, he'll want to leave United.
So we are back to that two years too long contract.Steve, always the optimist.
Who realistically at this stage of his career is going to take him for 250k p/w?
Nah we are stuck with Cpt. Mudpie until his contract has run out I'm pretty sure. Unless we are lucky enough and some Chinese club is looking for a mascot that looks like Shrek.
If Southgate does drop him then I can't see a way back for him at either club or country, especially if England play well.
I thought his comments in the recent press conference spoke volumes, mate - IMO, if he continues to be benched for club and/or country, he'll be looking to go elsewhere.Steve, always the optimist.

Fair play to Southgate. He could have easily played the game and used the “not playing for club” line to leave him out against Malta and then keep an unchanged team after we inevitably beat Malta. But, he’s made the decision himself and has actually dropped him for poor performances.
This will benefit us. Being dropped for United in favour of Zlatan, Mata and POgba is one thing, being dropped for England is another thing. If the situation remains unchanged between now and January I can honestly see him pushing for a move / loan to “resurrect his career”.
Equally, I can see him out of the game by the age of 33.

He might do, but which major club is going to take him? It would need to be a major club to afford his wages and honestly think he will be found out unless he goes to a lesser club or a lesser league.I thought his comments in the recent press conference spoke volumes, mate - IMO, if he continues to be benched for club and/or country, he'll be looking to go elsewhere.
It would be one the few times he'll not be actively seeking money; I think he'd take a big cut just so he can play regularly, chief. He might do, but which major club is going to take him? What am I seeing? Did someone put Rooney and Shearer in the same class? Worlds apart, those two
He's probably hoping Everton will actually fancy him then?It would be one the few times he'll not be actively seeking money; I think he'd take a big cut just so he can play regularly, chief.
