Wayne Rooney posted pic of his son Kai in new United kit. From posting his pics in England kit back to United kit. Let's all rejoice

Now Rooney has updated his profile pic and cover photo on Facebook with new United kit. I think that is good enough reason to give him pay rise, offer contract extension and include in Manchester United all time legend list.

The more I think about it, the more I think keeping Rooney was our #1 goal this summer. So in that respect we did what we wanted.

Think what we want about him, he has been an indispensable member of our team throughout some glorious years. With him now in his peak years, he is invaluable to keep.

As some of you have mentioned, he's now got Manchester United pictures galore going so I'd assume we've come to a conclusion where he is now happy.

so he's signing a new long-term contract...fine.

joking aside, we're a much better team with him than without.

He better not get a wage hike.

Article says "well into his thirties). That makes no sense, why would we want him in such a long contract on his current (or higher) wages.

The way the game is going, his current wage won't be very far from the norm in 5 years.

I'm not sure about the new contract. Fergie will surely have loads to say about Rooney in his new autobiography. Hopefully that doesn't ruin relations for Rooney again.

It's quite obvious they want to tie him up to avoid selling him for peanuts should Chelsea, or any other club, come knocking again. On the other hand, It would weaken Rooney's position if he still has his mind elsewhere.

Contract extension in Jan, sell in July, hopefully somebody will want him

I'm past caring what he earns or does, for me football died the day a player like bale was signed for 300000 a week.

Excellent news get him signed up we need to keep our best players and hopefully also bring further world class players here.

Durham (lol) is criticising Rooney today for being on a short holiday "when he should be in Kiev". What does he want? Should Rooney split up his forehead to prove himself for England? What a joke.

I can't even see Wayne being involved against Palace, let alone England's matches. He should avoid heading the ball for a while yet.

Could Rooney not, you know, be doing some training or something this week rather than goin away on another holiday?

Must admit I'm surprised to hear he's on holiday. It's not like he needs a break is it.

Seeings he missed the start of the season and would be playing catchup a bit in terms of sharpness, he'd have surely been better off takin advantage of this break to try and gain a bit of fitness. Apparently the cut he had has improved significantly in the last few days so if that's the case that won't be stopping him doing any training.

I'm sure someone in the reserve forum said that he and Rio were at a reserves game that was played behind closed doors

I think they were there observing.

Exercise increases your blood pressure which could cause the wound to bleed (especially if it's a bad one). I'm sure the team doctors know what they're doing here.

Yeah.. thats what I meant. Watching.. He wasnt off on a vacation.. atleast not a couple of days back

"There are occasions when you have to ask yourself whether certain players are affecting the dressing-room atmosphere, the performance of the team and your control of the players and staff. If they are, you have to cut the cord.

"There is absolutely no other way. It doesn't matter if the person is the best player in the world. The long-term view of the club is more important than any individual and the manager has to be the most important one in the club." - Sir Alex Ferguson

We need to go back to his way as soon as possible. No good will come from players like Rooney doing whatever they want. It'll just set a trend we'll find hard to break
