I really do struggle to think of a situation where that can happen in training.
Saw on twitter someone say he looks like a piggy bank

He must have ducked down to head the ball, and Jones has gone up with his leg to kick it. Silly things to happen like that but never normally end up that bad!

I don't think I've ever known a more clumsy footballer - the man is seemingly never in control of any of his limbs/muscles (or the football...)

He really is something else, at the weekend he was injured by Coutinho's slightest touch, tiniest player ever injured him so bad he couldn't continue the game.

What he wrote on his FB page when he posted those pics (the ones in Baxter's post)

"Some people seem to be questioning my commitment to the England squad and the fact I had to pull out of the 2 games. There is nothing I would like more than to be helping the lads in the qualifiers. I am sure people will see from these images the reason why I won't be able to play".

I didn't realize people were calling BS on the injury.

Didn't someone tell Jones that SAF's foot wasn't actually in the boot that hit Beckham?

"No worries, boss"

Jones either gets himself injured stupidly or in this case, teammate. I hope someone tells him to use head (no pun) and avoid stupid injuries. His injury against Liverpool was again a freak one which he seems to have become master of.

Probably a case of 2 players who go all out in training. Shit happens. Sucks for England though.

Couldn't say feck all during the summer, but now remembers how to use his FB page to counter any rumours/allegations.

Did Jones do it on purpose?

I saw this somewhere.

"The good news is it missed his brain by four feet."

Harsh.

Wouldn't blame him if he did, but probably not.

Adrian Durham is such a prick. That man is one of the worst football journalists out there. In fact I am embarressed to call him a journalist. I will just call him a human being. He is one of the worst human beings out there.

That sounds better.

He dives in all over the place. Just chill out a bit, man. Will end up with a fair few reds by the end of his career I reckon.

Immaturity. Same thing with Rafael. Hopefully he gets better. Not just for the cards but he can injure himself as well.

It's an odd stance to take.
We forced a player who wanted to leave, to stay. Nothing more nothing less.
I'm more happy that we didn't strengthen a rival.

I am wondering at this point whether we intend to just let him see out his contract and that'll be that, perhaps figuring he'll be fading by then anyway.

It's a tough one. Is he going to get the same salary he's on now in his extension? I really doubt it. Does he love United enough to take a pay cut, during what he and many others believe is the peak of his career where he feels he has nothing further to prove? Also doubtful, IMO

Unless he has a totally raging season, scores 40 goals and takes the utmost piss on the pitch, I think we'll offer him an extension with a lower salary and he'll turn it down.

If it plays out that way I'll be very interested to see how the club choose to handle it, I honestly wish we could sort the drama out sooner than that though as we don't need another summer with the Rooney issue hanging over our transfer activities.

Agree, except for the miserable part. Most likely he'll play very well this year to ensure a starting place in World cup. However, he will then play extremely well no doubt in WC to get a better deal somewhere else. We have only delayed the inevitable i think, we'll get a lot less for him next year, but as i've said all along i think this year was very important not to sell him, especially to a rival.

EDIT. Also, if rumours are to be believed, hopefully Stretford will be bankrupt by next summer and no longer his agent. If thats the case he may less likely to want a move/bumper pay deal

The thing is I doubt his place in the National team is under any threat, he may not have a had a good tournament for a while but he's still well ahead of the nearest competition for his spot. I don't expect him to give less than maximum effort but it's going to be a strained season for him I think.

Getting rid of that cancer might be his only shot of salvaging a future at United.

Hodgson as much as said if United benched him, he'd still be first choice for England.
