Can't really add much to your post, it's a nice read and seems overall very sensible and rational. You're right about the atmosphere and his eventual negative influence, the only thing I could put forward, but I may be wrong, is that I think that as a club we're very different (I'm talking about the squad here) from Chelsea or City and I don't feel we're full of mercenaries who would let anything affect the team that much. Chelsea was a bit of a weird one, a lot of new youngsters coming into the league (Oscar and Hazard notably) and needing strong leadership to do well, and being rattled by the reception of Benitez probably; City lacked real focus as well and didn't seem to care much. I'm confident that with people like Evra, Vida, Rio, Carrick, etc., guys that are used to defending a title and have been there and done it all, the younger and more inexperienced players won't lose that focus. I really don't think Rooney will have that toxic an influence, and I may be bias, but I really don't think he's as bad a cnut as Balotelli or Tevez, and that when push comes to shove, he'll just buckle down and do what's best for the team.

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic though, I don't know, only time will tell.

I stand by that comment, yes.

Alright Col love, Im just going out to knock boots with a whore, I sincerely promise Ill use a rubber.

I take thee colleen, Forsaking all others, (unless Im paying them)

I love Utd and want to retire here.

Its not about Money its about believing the club can challenge and attract the best players in the world..............unless they play in my position.

You know I meant about his emotions and how he's feeling as a footballer, it was fairly obvious from my post. Am I meant to give a feck about what he does off a pitch?

Doesn't matter as long as he's doing the business on the pitch.

Both perfectly fair points, Im just arguing that sincere is the one thing he most certainly isn't. If he told me the sky was blue Id check and want proof.

Everyone makes mistakes Sparky and to constantly have those mistakes shoved in your face at every chance, do you think Rooney warrants such hate?

Does anyone think it's still just all about money? You wonder how much he really wants to join Chelsea seeing as he has not said anything and has not put in a transfer request. I'd guess a fat 200k a week 4 year contract renewal offer would soon get him pledging his future to us.

Just read that Rooney just unfollowed United's official twitter account....this is serious shit now!!!

You have to actually ask how much do we actually know of the truth inside Rooney's head.

he's said nothing, unlike Suarez, most of it is conjecture, paper talk and behind closed door sh!t

I can see him staying, playing well, and in a month or 2 giving it the "I just wanted to know im loved here" line.

Having a good season and all being blown under the carpet.

His was the very first account that the United account followed, but I don't think Wayne reciprocated.

Although the Portuguese accepts United are under no obligation to sell Rooney just as Chelsea rebuffed Barcelona's attempts to sign David Luiz.
"You try, because nobody forbids you to try," Mourinho said.
"When you think that you'd like to have one player and the market is open and the official bids are not forbidden, official bids are always accepted in an ethical way.
"Of course, the player's owners can do exactly what we did in relation to David Luiz and Barcelona."

They are bound to have a contingency of some sort, besides United being more stubborn than expected Rooney could have gone out and broken his leg in training. Or Jose may have been dissatisfied with the existing stock of forwards at the Bridge once they were tested.

Alternatively they could be applying a little pressure on Rooney, create enough doubt that he might attempt to force the issue further on his end [even put in an OTR].

I believe Rooney will stay here, get through this slump he is having in his mind and come out the other side. For all of the opinions that we are reading and saying about him having a miserable time at the club, there is one very simple way that Rooney could get himself a move if he wanted one - and that is to publicly declare his wish to leave. I believe the club would let him go if he pushed hard enough in a particular way.

At times this summer I was leaning to thinking that he had played his last game for the club. The sub appearance was the first step towards repairing things IMO.

Read an article on Daily Fail about Rooney attending team bonding session - a team meal, yesterday night. One thing is clear.. neither Chelsea look like offering crazy money, to the tune of 50m or so for him which might have got us thinking at least; nor does he look like handing transfer request without which United are pretty much holding all cards. I just hope there are no tensions between him and team. As we saw on saturday, he can still have effect on match and can play well when fit but if he continues to stay aloof from team then that can be detrimental.

Rooney, Moyes and Co paint the town red as United embark on team bonding session after just two games

Giggsy's missus looks like your one from planet of the apes.

Ashley Young has a porker

Im such a Bitch

Do you think De Gea tried to tell Valencia a joke? Doesn't seem to have worked in any case. And why didn't he turn up with Edurne??

Vidic's Mrs is nice, Giggs is class, Jones doesn't know how to dress, and Young's missus is about as nice as his end product on a pitch. That's what I got out of that article.
