Wayne Rooney | 2012-14 Performances

All the anger in this thread is confusing me....

Seriously though I hope we get rid. Last night was a typical Rooney performance and as someone else said, it's very rare nowadays that Rooney really looks a cut above the rest or that he is really going to make something happen in a game. Some players like Mata, Aguero and Bale, when they get the ball you (I) always think something might happen and they make create a goal from nowhere. Rooney used to have that, but not any more.

In fairness, I have just looked him up for the crack and the knobhead is comedy gold, has a bit of a vendetta against red cafe, particularly jveezy and TN it seems.

Yeh me too. The lad's an absolute moron. Hardly a surprise he was banned tbf.

So he was total wank last night then? Cash in on the cnut.

If Rooney stays, I see him scrutinized more strictly than anyone in current team, every small mistake magnified by those who are virtually after his blood and decent performances glorified by those who still love him/have sympathy for him and then long arguments going round in circles :)

Its already happening. 60 mins in an England friendly that most have no interest in picked apart his every move.

This season will be tedious at times on the forum if he stays. (Still hope he does though)

I am hoping for a magic moment like overhead kick goal against a big team early on. Will be good for everyone. Last time when he handed transfer request, it was all meh after he had signed contract extension till that goal.

I really hope he stays, losing top players is never good and we all know if Rooney has he head right he can be the very best. I know in most United fans eyes the way he has treated the club is unacceptable and I agree but the club need to some how find a way of fixing the situation before its to late.

Same as last season on here then.

Tell you what was weird, they show the line-ups and I turn to my brother and say "Well that's two United players in the side" refering to Cleverley and Welbeck, I required him to point out it was 3 and Rooney was a United player...

He did the keeper with the chest, the Scottish defenders were never playing - the movement and pass had done them.

I'm sure if that had been Van Persie we'd have complained about the officials and said how he'd done well.

Can I have some of whatever you're smoking? There was a bloke on the line when Rooney shot who probably would have cleared it. True, Rooney may have put more power on his shot had the whistle not gone, but there was still a defender there ready to attempt a clearance.

That's just a bizarre rewriting of something that happened but a few hours ago...

That is what the reserves are for. With the start we have we can't afford passengers.

Exactly. Just because he's angry and confused, we shouldn't guarantee him a place in the team until he is match fit and less angry and confused. There are players who worked hard in the pre-season, and fecking them just because Rooney wants so wouldn't be a good message to them, neither will help us to win those matches we have in the start of the season.

Absolutely, I have said for years that Rooney and anyone else who needs games should be getting them in the reserves until they are ready for the first team. At Uniteds level there is no room for passengers who aren't at their peak.

Yeah, that's my point, he's more a Rooney fan than a United one. If Rooney left tomorrow we would probably never see wr8 again.

There has never been a poster so obsessed with one player on the forum before him.

Edit - that's not fair. Johnmufc is also a maniac for Wayne, I'm pretty sure he hates Fergie now because of his treatment towards him, which is mental.

To be fair WR8 even in his most obsessive moments he has never been as loopy as Johnmufc.

We've used the reserves for players to get match fitness and then we've also given some players who need match fitness time in real games because even when not match fit can make a difference. In the sporting world, top players are given that extra chance others wouldn't get. Hodgson and Moyes probably still see Rooney as a top player so they are going to give him minutes with the first team instead of leaving him to the reserve games.

From his official FB page. What a little babbler

Happy to play my first competitive game of the season last night, felt good and it will definitely help my fitness. Disappointed my goal was disallowed, it was a great pass from Steven and I thought I timed my run perfect, the replays seemed to show it was onside. Made up for Ricky lambert getting the winner and his first goal for England, great debut! http://gms.to/1427aqF

Steven.. lol.

Maybe we should sell him to England.

There's no way that's written by him. The English is far too good.

The post reads like its been generated by a scouse to English translating software.

Rooneys every word getting scrutinised now ffs give it a rest he's been quality for us ok he has acted like a fud but get over it. He'll move on or buckle down either way I fancy Wellbeck will step up and challenge him!
