No, I meant the post match interview - where Fergie said Rooney wanted out. Shouldn't have mixed in the "angry and confused" line.

I agree with those who point to his silence as an indication that he indeed wants away - it would surprise me greatly if he didn't. The question is partly why - and mainly how badly. I don't see any of this as positively, absolutely the end of his United career. His silence may serve a very pragmatic purpose: If he doesn't get his will, he can - if he so pleases - carry on as if nothing has happened. At no point has he, himself, said a single word about anything. That hasn't stopped our fans from getting riled up, but as I've said many times before that's mainly an Internet phenomenon - and a transfer window thing at that. If he realizes a move is out of the question he'll just play on and wait until the next window. I think that's more likely, at any rate, than him going gaga and making a spectacle of himself once the season is underway properly.

As for his "camp" (God, I hate that term) and what they have or have not leaked to the press - feck knows. Much of the material in this saga is regurgitated, presented over and over again by journos who are too lazy to come up with a proper story and just dress up the same old shite from "sources close to Rooney" slightly differently in order to attract the attention of readers.

Mourinho is loving stirring up trouble here with his quotes. He will do anything to get Rooney yet makes an abysmal offer, its obvious he's trying to cause problems. If we wants Rooney, make a decent offer or go away.

His behaviour is proving why the hierarchy at United didn't want him as manager. It would b never ending controversy.

As Macari said, "If you want to go, come out and say 'I want to leave Manchester United', and if you want to stay come out and say 'I want to stay'.

The silence is deafening.

The only proof would be him admitting it. That's never going to happen. Short of that we can only go on what we know. His failure to dismiss the speculation points to it being true. He has previous for doing so. I think you're being naive.

You really are wasting your time, ghaliboys default position is if its an a newspaper its a lie therefore believe the exact opposite.

The fact is Rooney will be expecting to play football come the start of September. Chelsea being his hope. Only way he'll be ready is by keeping fit. Offering to keep fit isn't indicative of wanting to stay.
On the contrary the way it is being reported in polar opposite and something along the lines of 'Wayne hides in mansion under flannel blanket "Take me to London right now" refusing to play for United ever again', all I am saying is that the varying shite being spouted by the media paints him as trying to engineer a move and fighting the club and being desperate to leave. I never actually said that I think he wants to stay because you're right. If he wanted to stay he'd negotiate a new deal and sign it in the end. The media would still probably keep towing the line of him leaving the club just in case.

One tweet to say everything in the media is bullshit. That's all it would take to help stop the damage being done to his reputation with the fans of the club if he wants to stay. He's done it before and it would take seconds and do a lot of good. He's done it before.
He probably knows he lost the fans a few years ago. Maybe the club has told him not to? Maybe his own agent has tried to distance him from anything that might hinder his negotiations. Nobody really knows, I am not really sure he's sitting there thinking about what the fans might think otherwise it would take one swift statement. The fact is that his name has been up in lights continuously and has not said one thing on the matter that can be quoted. It is an interesting stance when you think about it and put it beside other oddities that have been happening lately as far as players wanting to leave ther club go.
You're living in a fantasy.

 fecking hell, because I don't read media spun bullshit I am living in a fantasy land? You lot are absolutely mental. Paranoid and delusional doesn't even begin to describe it.

Why would he bother? It's between him and the club, it would be a bit weird of he was made to comfort the insane paranoia of a section of the fan base. You'd have players twitting every second of the day if they had to constantly be doing that.

He tweeted this last summer.

It was just paper rumours at the time and no one had put in an offer for him, fast forward 12 months and we are in similar situation but this time the club have rejected two bids. So why hasn't he bothered to reply this time?

Nearer to negotiation time with the club on his current contract. Would be my guess, as stated above.

edit: Not using twitter it's interesting to see the infrequent use of his account. A couple of messages every month. It probably wouldn't be the best outlet to come out and announce your intentions in his case. It's an impressive effort if his 'team' have managed to keep nearly everyone quiet this long, so if it is true then fair play to them.

Theres being sceptical and then there is disbelieving every single thing written which is exactly what you do regarding rooney, Every single article during this summer about him you say "wheres the proof?" That's a valid point, but don't you think someone like rooney/Stretford/Utd would have taken steps by now about libellous comments damaging the reputation of a valuable asset?

It's funny you should mention something like that because I haven't even opened a single article of my own volition. Only really what has been recycled here.. It's hard to disbelieve things when you don't actually read them. It's even harder to believe them funnily enough. If 'where is the proof?' is a valid argument then I don't really know why you're replying. Because it is. I'll believe it when I see it - I'll be happy to say 'well played, you guys were right. That's not a bad effort of keeping everyone quiet if I may say so fair fecks.' It is a pretty easy conclusion to come to when you don't read anything the media is saying, you could probably come to that conclusion.

I get the whole 'you clearly just don't believe any media' because I haven't even read a single piece that hasn't contained proper quotes and a genuine effort to report the matter. Take for example right now, i'll google 'rooney transfer' right now and open the first media article and post it here in a new post and give you my thoughts on it.. Breaking my self-imposed article ban in the process.

And there isn't even any copy...? Okay.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...yne-rooney-saga-must-end-before-season-begins

Here you go, don't really know who or what the bleacher report is. Even if it is reliable or what.

The embattled Manchester United forward has been in the transfer news for the entire summer, and his relationship with the club that turned him into a superstar has turned sour.
Wayne asking the club to play in the reserves doesn't really indicate to me that he is embattled and his relationship with the club has turned sour.. But okay, am I supposed to just believe that? Wouldn't it be more realistic to think the opposite in that situation?
You'll not be surprised to hear Rooney wasn't pleased. With new manager David Moyes in place and Rooney's status with the club as up in the air as ever, that unhappiness has led to some not-so-subtle hints he'd like to go elsewhere.
Such as..?
Rooney wants to go to Chelsea. The Blues want him. The only problem is that Manchester United may hold out past the winning point for Jose Mourinho's club. The Premier League starts in less than two weeks, with Chelsea opening their schedule against Hull City.
Does he want to go to Chelsea? Has this guy been informed by Wayne himself?...

I honestly stopped reading not long after that. If this shite is what passes for journalism these days then I am glad I am not reading it. It's fecking garbage.

Generally I don't disagree, the tabloid media are a lying bunch of disgusting hacks who couldn't lie straight in bed. But in the litigious times we live in if they were not getting their info from someone with Rooneys and or chelseas knowledge and approval there would be threats of lawsuits and all sorts of consequences.

Maybe, I guess I see the whole 'come and deny it' scenario as something of the same thing. People might be tired of having to come out and disprove complete tosh every time some thick cnut of an editor taps the keys and approves some gash article.

I don't think it's naive to take a look at the journalistic gruel that is set on the table of this impending transfer and skeptical of the chef telling you it has bacon in it.

If it was anyone apart from Rooney Id agree :lol::lol:

A few points to the "no proof that this isn't all being fabricated" theory:

Danny Kelly revealed that Talksport were contacted by a PR company ahead of the 'angry and confused' statement, were they just some rogue outfit speaking on the player's behalf?

If Rooney is entirely committed then why was Moyes incapable of telling the gathered media so in his first press conference?

It's not tweeting to deny every little rumour, it would be a statement of support for the new regime and to take the wind out of all this distracting nonsense.

Do you think that Chelsea have put in two bids without first putting feelers out in Rooney's direction?

What the hell do you think his PR is paid to do if not communicate with the media at such a time when he himself takes on a pretence of dignity?

Where is the evidence circumstantial or otherwise to suggest that he wants to stay at United above all things?

Lol, I know you dislike Rooney and you've probably been reading a lot of the copy regarding this whole situation. It's interesting to me in that I haven't read nearly anything of the whole situation and I don't really have the wummed up hatred of him, the getting angry and the general feeling of wanting him to feck off.

If it happens it happens and the club will sort it out in the end. If it doesn't then it doesn't and we still have a world class player at our disposal providing he sacks up and gives 100% for the shirt.

Anybody else seen his bitchy little comments on facebook?. A clear diss to the man utd boss' here.

I always assumed it was a fat guy sitting in a basement being told what to post.

nick above, feel free to answer some of those questions. I don't really care to be honest. It seems a bit pointless asking a bunch of questions without giving the answers doesn't it?.. If they are important points then why not try and find the answers and let us all know?

I still do maintain that I think his perceived relationship with the fans is near to non-existant. The reception at the trophy presentation was a bit ott.

For anyone not on facebook, this is what he said.
-
Can't wait to join up with the England squad and hopefully play in a competitive match, they always are against Scotland. Big thanks to Roy Hodgson for selecting me and showing his faith and support, appreciate it

feck me  What a cock

Did you aim that towards me or Rooney?.

I am just relaying the message - It's clear that he is not injured 1 little bit and cannot wait to play a "competitive game".

Now if Sparky or Steve had just called Wayne fat you'd be all in a bother. *tut-tut* ;)

They were rather for you to explain, on account of you inability to comprehend why people are drawing certain conclusions about the carry on this summer.

Oooooops

It's pointless trying to convince people one way or the other. The following is the bottom line for me:

If it happens it happens and the club will sort it out in the end. If it doesn't then it doesn't and we still have a world class player at our disposal providing he sacks up and gives 100% for the shirt.

I've just spent the last 40 mins reiterating that I have purposely not read media on the subject. Seems a little silly to raise questions about why I don't comprehend the media I'm not reading. By all means feel free to speculatively answer it on my behalf. I'm interested to know myself.

You could read at a little dig at United or just plain relief that he is playing in a competitive game

So he can comment on Facebook about these little things but can't be arsed to take a few seconds to do something similar to put Utd fans minds at ease? Ok.

 Sorry if I was unclear, it was aimed at Rooney! Yeah, I'm looking at the message in the same way.

It is kind of unambiguous but in the context of Moyes quotes in the far east:

Wayne can play up on his own, he can play dropped in. Overall my thought on Wayne is, if for any reason we had an injury to Robin van Persie, we'll need him,"

It does look like a little dig. And let's be honest, Rooney could have a leg missing and he'll still be selected for England. So the feigning of surprise that he has been selected looks a bit odd.

It's amost certainly a dig but I'm virtually past caring. His Facebook is England Central in any case.

You wouldn't have needed to read a single article to provide some answers to them, yet if you are going to be deliberately obtuse we'll leave it there.
