He must be pulling his hair out.

Maybe he trained too hard. He was in the best shape he's been in for years. His body may not have been used to it.

Well, many said it was time to cash in on him. And he's still here, miserable and injured.

In all seriousness it really is a baptism of fire for Moyes isn't it.

Walks in with the Rooney transfer situation and the Nani contract mess. Then loses out on Rene and has a bid for Baines exposed and turned down. Then loses Thiago and just when it looks like the Rooney situation will die down he gets injured. Not to mention he has the toughest start imaginable to league campaign.

All the while walking into a club with huge expectations and trying to replace arguably the greatest British manager of all time.

Welcome to United David.

Funny thing is, in the most recent Getty Images pix, he looks like he's enjoying training and having a laugh with Evra & co.

Duf, you're like the ghost of Christmas past recently, mate. :D

It's official from the club. If this is some kind of smokescreen - why? I'm not the most devious person, granted, but I fail to see what they would gain from pretending he's injured.

I never understand these injuries thing as well....I mean why so many, every season.

Has to be genuine. If we were open to offers we would have tried to sort it out before flying him all the way to Bangkok. Unless we're just torturing him for fun.

"We know you've come back fat and pissed, but we're going to tell everyone you're in the best shape of your life, just to up fan expectations. We'll then make you to fly half way across the world, only to send you back the next day with a made up injury. Enjoy economy class."

Moyes might not want a player in his pre season squad that is not in his plans. Easier to fake an injury and avoid the difficult questions. If a transfer does not happen then he'll be back in the fold.

It's a very old trick, done countless times.

That being said, he's probably injured.

Yeah, unless he's due to move in a month when they said he might regain fitness, he couldn't move because he wouldn't pass a medical, right?

Of all the possible excuses to use as a smokescreen, an injury seems the most stupid one which would only result in questions being asked once everything went through.

I'm fairly confident that its legitimate.

Much easier to fake the injury before flying him out to Asia!

Having a player around the camp if word gets out we've accepted an offer or are at least negotiating with someone would be disruptive to pre-season preparations. Not saying this is the case but saying "he's injured" and shipping him back to England to finalise things would make sense.

Moyes needs to sign a new physio to avoid the ridiculous number of injuries we've had in the last two years. Will be like signing a midfielder. Almost.

 at the conspiracy theories.

We only flew out yesterday. If it was transfer related he'd have just stayed in the country to begin with.

Shhh, I'm trying to sow seeds of discontent amongst the weak minded muppetards. Once I see the first genuine "Moyes out" post I'll know my work is done.

Not necessarily. It's hardly a conspiracy. We know the player has asked to go and hasn't changed his mind since. Reading between the massive gap in the line of Moyes' comments and right on the line of Fergie's told us that.

It's not like anyone's suggesting something which hasn't had the ground work laid, firmly.

Jesus, even I'm in better shape than Wayne. Then again, I can't score overhead kicks like he does. Sell me, sign Rooney.

The fact of having him a hamstring injury may well be accurate however the severity of it and time out is another matter. These things are exaggerated during the season all of the time, if it is convenient to do so now i wouldn't rule that out.

Well that's just bloody great, so Wayne is now going to miss pre-season, put on a pile of weight and be like a lump of lard when the season starts, will be dropped for Robin and then won't ask for a transfer. Dammit.

Aye, but did someone really call up with an offer the very day after we departed? Bit hard to believe.

Was it after his first day? I just can't see United taking him along if anything was seriously in the works, let alone required him to be back there. What happened today that they didn't know before they left?

No.

9th July 2011

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has named a 23-strong squad to travel to the Far East on Sunday for the Club's first international tour for 12 years.
Most of the Club's big names are making the trip except skipper Cesc Fabregas who continues his recovery from a hamstring injury sustained at the end of last season.

Well they may have called up weeks before and we used the 'we're taking him on the tour' thing to show we're serious about keeping him. if we had left him behind it wouldn't have done much for our negotiating position. Maybe taking him with us was a signal of intent to either say 'he stays' or that we won't listen to offers we feel fall below our valuation.
