Fair play to Sebastian Soup-Dragon.

just showed you him going into the changing room so he must have missed out on the matchday squad at the last minute

Bye Wayne. Ferguson's last big decision.

Quite sure that it's a response to Wayne's transfer request and subsequent actions this week. No Nani too - Fergie seems happy to showcase just his past and United's future today.

To be honest I think it's irrelevant whether he handed in a transfer request or not. I suspect both Rooney and the club have known he'll be leaving for a while, I think what we're seeing now is both sides trying to spin and manage the optics. If he is going it's something that has been building for a while. I suppose a lot of fans will be quite bitter towards Rooney but I don't really mind, seems like his time here has run its course. Might be the best thing for both the club and Rooney if he goes.

MUTV just showed Rooney getting off the bus and walking in the dressing room with the lads. Nothing wrong with his face. Not a bruise or cut in sight.

Wayne Rooney is more than capable of scoring 30+ goals a season, the fact he hasn't for us this year IMHO has more to do with his attitude and where his head is at, but if we sell him we will be strengthening someone.

That being said Wayne Rooney has also messed Sir Alex about a lot in the past few years and its no surprise the Boss can't be bothered with him anymore. With two games left til he retires and the title won Sir Alex probably thinks in two weeks time he'll be someone else's problems so now I no longer have to deal with him I won't.

Fair play to the Boss too, this is his day not Rooney's. If Sir Alex doesn't want him involved nobody should question the decision.

The fact he hasn't got 30 goals this season is because he's playing as a second striker, occasionally on the wing, and even in central midfield. It's nothing to do with his attitude even though in the last couple of months it does seem a bit lacklusture. You can criticise him for a lot of things but goal output and productivity should not be one.

I really don't know what to think with Rooney anymore.

Sometimes I get the impression he's the sort of personality we want at the club, yet at other times I get the impression he's the exact sort of personality that we don't need in the dressing room.

One thing is for sure, he's not our best player anymore and is no longer indispensable to us. If his attitude/commitment is in question off the pitch then we're better off getting rid.

Kagawa behind RVP is my preferred option anyway.

His future will be decided by Moyes and I know he won't suffer fools....

if Rooney wants to be part of Manchester United he'll need to shape up

the way he and his wanker agent seem to agitate publicly about moves or a new contract is thoroughly unprofessional

Rooney needs a slap for putting a cloud over what is a momentous week

Selling him to a domestic rival would be a huge mistake. Not to worried about him abroad.

True

Maybe Fergie wanted to take him out of the firing line today? There's been a lot written and said about him. The last thing we don't want to see is one of players getting abuse from sections of the crowd. Today's all about celebrating Sir Alex's reign.

If I had to guess, it's because there are issues there and Ferguson is finished with him, that's not to say their relationship is broken down, just that in professional terms he'd rather pick his last two teams from players who want to play for him at this club.

There's no reason he won't get a fresh start from Moyes.

One thing is certain though, we won't be selling to a rival like City unless we mug them for £100m+.

PSG or Madrid is my guess. In fact I'll wager it's Madrid.

Andrew Cole's thoughts exactly on Paul Stretford.

Rooney's been moved about because he hasn't played well enough to hold down either of his favourite positions. You don't see Van Persie being shunted about often do you? That's cos for pretty much all season he's come up with the goods leading the line.

This season when Rooney has played as a number 9 or 10 his touch has still been dodgy, his passing has still been erratic, his ability under pressure still looks a shadow of what it once was.

If Rooney had been in the form he was at the start of 2011/12 or the end of 2010/11 Sir Alex would never have shifted him about as he has. The fact is Rooney's performances have not justified him having a nailed on place in the first XI.

He's been moved about almost all of his United career. Every season since he's been here he's had games out of his favourite position.

That's not strictly true is it? It's been hugely overplayed how much he was moved about when Ronaldo was about (although I do admit he had to do a lot of tracking back when Ronaldo allowed himself to be stranded in forward positions).

In 2009/10 he was a straight number 9. In 2010/11 he was a straight number 10. In 2011/12 he was again a number 10 apart from at the end of the season when he went back to being a number 9.

Rooney's overall performances have not justified the kind of status he has been given at United, especially since Ronaldo left. Instead of crying about it to Sir Alex he should have produced a few more City (a) showings this season.

I don't disagree with any of that but saying the main reason for Rooney not scoring 30 goals this season is attitude is ridiculous. Even if Rooney was in the form of his life, he still would've been shifted when RVP came, simply because he's the more versatile player. History proves this.

You won't have two strikers in your team who have a season like RVP has done for us, one will always have to play second fiddle and their statistics will suffer as a result.

It's just wide of the mark focusing on his productivity, if anything thats the thing thats remained whilst his general play has suffered.

How is Fergie leaving Rooney out any sign Rooney is getting sold?

In case anyone's forgotten the new manager will decide on this!

If Rooney was dropped because of the "transfer request", he'd not have played the last 2 games either. No Nani or Rooney doesn't mean they're both definitely off. New manager, new start.

Will Geoff dare to ask Fergie about Rooney before the game?

That's not how he rolls, it'd be mroe like:

Shreeves walks up to Rooney on the pitch after the game and puts an arm round his shoulder.

"So, Wayne, you've been told to feck off, how do you feel?"

Wayne Rooney just walked by pressbox, presumably to go to one of exec boxes. 'Face like thunder' fairly accurate description
