Walcott Next Out The Door?

How? He doesn't has the talent or the skills similar to Nani. His final ball is much worse. He doesn't provides as much defensive work as Nani and Young do, and just runs around like a headless chicken.

Also, his record his flawed somewhat. Sure you can point out to 10+ goals and assists in the last 2 seasons, but how many games has he been influential in? How many games has he stepped up in and shown his true quality?

Financially first of all - Nani wants a huge wage rise - and isn't doing the business anyway. To me it's a given that he's gone in January or next summer when United can get a decent return on him.

It's not only about what Walcott (or any other player for that matter) is now - it's about what they might be. Fergie may think he has potential to develop - just like Young and Valencia.

People are talking about United spending mega money on Rodriguez from Porto - who looks very handy. But Fergie might think £8 million on Walcott represents better value - who knows.

We could easily field the best english attack in the world with Walcott.

Walcott--Rooney-Welbeck--Young.

Better than fecking England.

Just attack?.

Jones---smalling
Cleverly----powell

None of them are as quite as established as the attack though, Cleverley and Welbeck are probably about equal.

Powell is still a total wild-card really.

I think he could be a useful member of our squad (assuming Nani is out the door). One thing I remember from watching Van Persie's highlights from Arsenal was that the two of them seemed to have a decent connection.

Still think he will end up at Liverpool because of his fixation with playing striker.

United English XI (with Walcott)

That's not to shabby. No English leftback though.

I think (hope) this is just another case of throwing United's name into the mix to ramp the transfer story up.

Replacing Nani with Walcott....

That'd be some fecked up shit.

We already can:

Welbeck-Rooney-Young

With Cleverley-Carrick-Wilshere behind. Don't think England could field a better 6 than that.

He should be deployed as a Michael Owen type forward. He is excellent at scoring one on ones and his finishing is overall pretty good.

Like most wingers he is very hit and miss with beating his man and creating scoring chances.

Blackett ?

if we buy walcott, watch lads somehow try to justfy it as a good signing when we've been pissing ourselves about him for ages now.

I wouldn't endorse bringing in Walcott, but if it came to pass I'd have to embrace our newest player. It's not as though Walcott has been pissing on us and if Fergie goes for it I'm behind Fergie. I suspect most caftards would feel the same way.

Well yes I'd try and support him if he was here and I'd trust SAF knew what he was doing but I would be very sceptical at the same time.

Please not Walcott. He's good but no point in having both him and Young.

What's the point when we have Hernandez?

I don't understand why people are so negative to Walcott - imo he has improved dramatically over the last 2 or so seasons. 20 goals and 20 assists in roughly 75 matches over the last 2.5 seasons - that's quite good when you are playing for Arsenal (and being used as a sub quite a lot)

And if we can get him for below £10 mill that is a good deal.

Where'd you play him?

I´d either play him on either side as a winger or up front. He´d be a good addition to the squad and being english is a plus too

We have no vacant spots upfront. We have 4 fantastic option. What Walcott provides upfront, Hernandez provides better. He could be an option upfront for the likes of Arsenal or Pool but not for us.

On the right, we have Valencia and Nani. On the left, we have Young and Nani. More than enough options. If Nani leaves, we'l need someone better than Walcott.

If Nani leaves, we need someone better than Walcott.

Whats the plus of being English if we could get a better player?

'I will not be bringing anybody in, in January - definitely not,' he confirmed.

"You and your paper can feck off," he also confirmed.

...

Signs a 3 and half year deal. Seems pretty low tbh.

They're supposedly giving him a high signing on bonus and 100k. They're not renewing for selling him.

I thought that also :nono:

I still don't believe that he could've done better in terms of moving to another club than Arsenal - it's a good resolution for both in that respect as Arsenal really couldn't afford to be seen to lose another famous player after Fabregas/Nasri/RVP.

Three and a half years mean the speculation and doubt restart in a year and a half. Kind of like when Becks signed his last deal with us after long negotiations, for three years. He was gone a year later.

He's basically saying "progress or I'm off in three years".

Can you blame him?

And the club describe it as a long term deal. :wenger:

He'll be gone to a successful club before this new contract expires.
