Walcott Next Out The Door?

I wouldn't bother with Walcott amd his ridiculous wage demands. We could use an outstanding winger, not another squad man. But if we needed a squad man, Walcott would be second or third on my shopping list.

Doesn't he want to play up front, though? Why would he come here when we have RVP, Rooney, Chich and Welbeck as options up top? And even on the right wing, he's not going to get a game ahead of Valencia.

Story is bollocks.

Interestingly, this looks like it has been leaked by Arsenal. All the Journalist covering Arsenal are carrying this news. Probably to put pressure on the other clubs.

He's a good player and will do well at whichever club he moves to, but it certainly won't be United. We have better strikers and we rarely if ever play wing forwards.

Look...we just need you to drive up the price so keep playing along so that we can squeeze Poo for every penny.

I think that's what exactly is happening. All the journalist cover Arsenal are carrying this news, so this is actually leaked by Arsenal rather than United or Walcott's agents.

United want Walcott: Fergie ponders reuniting the Arsenal contract rebel with RvP

Yeah we have Valencia, no need for Walcott.

That's one way of looking at it. The other is as Walcott's style of play is quite similar to Valencia's: fast, direct, head down and driving to goal he'd give us a good alternative for the times that Tony's out of form. Also Walcott's finishing is better than Tony's. Many may disagree but if we can get him on the cheap or for free I wouldn't mind having Theo at Old Trafford.

I always thought that SAF would be interested in a cut price Walcott. The Telegraph are reporting that the deal is Walcott + 10m for Nani.

Walcott would be a decent option, from the bench especially, it is just that he has delusions of grandeur and there is no way that he is good enough to go through the centre for us. Ironically enough, Arsenal has such a paucity of genuine top level talent through the middle that Theo should be given a run there.

10m+Nani ?..
hahahaha
Walcott is out of a contract in the summer.

Anyway. Dont want Nani to go. Dont care about Walcott either way.

Wait sorry, we get 10m + Walcott for Nani. They claim that the deal is attractive to both sides.

Hmm. Still. Walcott isnt playing down the middle here and Arsenal wont pay Nani what he wants.
Why swap?

Will this go to a tribunal if Walcott leaves on a free?
If not, tapping him up in Jan and getting him for free in the summer would make more sense for any club interested.

£10m+Nani? Didn't see that. That would be a great deal...for Arsenal.

Why'd Nani go to Arsenal?

Honestly he's not signing a new contract because he wants 130k here. Arsenal's top earner is at 90k. It doesn't even make sense.

I read it whilst I was eating my breakfast, on a second glance it seems entirely speculative.

Nani, who is out of favour at Manchester United and also out of contract in 2014, has emerged as a possible part of any deal. A fee to United for Nani of around £10million plus Walcott could be attractive to both clubs.

From Arsenal’s perspective, they would be getting a ready-made replacement with proven Premier League experience for a price that would be reduced by the inclusion of Walcott in the deal.

Wages, however, could easily present an insurmountable obstacle in any move to bring Nani to Arsenal. Nani is currently on £80,000-a-week at United and has been pushing for an enhanced deal. Arsenal do not currently pay any player more than £100,000-a-week and are also actively pursuing other targets.

Don't see why we would want Walcott, he's really not suited to playing as a traditional winger and has made it clear he wants to play more upfront,or at least as a wide forward, not gonna get that at united particularly with Hernandez third in line.

That's completely speculative. They've just added Nani for whatever reason and tried to justify the deal in the first two paragraphs while exactly telling why Nani won't be moving there in the third paragraph.

Meh, we need a left winger not a right one.

Also if Walcott wants to play more through the middle he's not gonna get that at United, complete load of bollocks this.

Has a better record for Arsenal that he gets credit for - socred some key goals.

Wouldn't mind the club taking a punt at the low prices quoted by some of the press, but of course priorities are elsewhere.

Would be interesting to see if fergie could bring him on - he is after all only 23.

Could he play on the left - "cutting in" on to his right?

Interesting one this, because he's young, cheap and seem to have as yet unfilled potential.

For those reasons alone I think Fergie might consider it.

Theo looks more Clinical from those stats (Nani can be wasteful) but Nani does offer more to the team

Well it says to me that Theo is a slightly better goal scorer but a vastly inferior creative player, who also is involved in general play less.

10 million plus Nani???? what fecking crackhead has dreamt that up?

It is Walcott + 10m for Nani.

It is no contest besides the shot conversion rate. Nani is lot better in most other categories. Has almost double the number of chances created and that is his primary job.

Yeah. Walcott is really a forward...not a winger so that is to be expected.

I think I be got played as one regular he would do really well.

Not gonna happen here. I'd take him for free as a squad player because he is still a danger...but otherwise no.

We do not really need a forward. We have them in abundance.

He would be useless here unless we are trying to fill the home grown quota.

He is more hit and miss than Nani and when both are at the best then Nani wins hands down. Not only that but his injury record is poor. One thing he would suit is our counter attacking play but there are far better options out there when it comes to link up and crossing the ball.
