Is anyone planning on going to the Final?

I've just received an email from the club to say there will be a small number of tickers available and that the club are likely to subsidise day flights by £200 per person. I would have enough European credits to get one of these tickets but there's no way I'm going to go due to the likelihood of having to quarantine - current guidance says that you'd have to self-isolate for 10 days on arrival in Poland let alone on return to the UK!

I have applied for a ticket through the UEFA site. Assume that's for one of the 2000 "neutral" tickets.

I'm already living in Poland (am Norwegian) so would be a few hours by train. (I actually reserved a room at a cheap motel closeish to the stadium last week just in case.)

I've never had a chance to see us live before, so I'm hoping to be lucky in the draw!

6th in La Liga they can't be that bad surely?

There was some random Ukranian team in the final a few years back
I think this is a really tough opponent in a cup final because their defense is so well organized. Based on their league rank, they are more or less on the same level of Everton.
I think we have surely know how to play those continental teams. Pogba probably will have a big impact against Villarreal.

Watched their game against Arsenal and they were organised but there was nothing much there in an attacking sense and they lost one of their forwards to a serious looking injury. We'd have to mess up really badly to lose this.

Their goalkeeper was dodgy as hell.
They will be looking to shut our space down to ensure we have one of our sloppy poor passing peformances and then but us with a goal at some point. That's totally conceivable given how we sometimes play when denied space (see Leicester). But man for man this shouldn't really be a contest. We are twice the team they are on paper.

Come on United and Ole!

Easy win, they are 20 points of fourth in their league.

We need some reverse jinxes to counter act all the confidence in this thread.

Absolutely hate playing against Spanish teams and Emery beat Ole a couple of times already.

Absolutely no chance in hell emery wins another Europa league this season.

We will 100% beat Villarreal. We’re miles better than them. Not like me to be so confident! Manchester double in Europe ;)

Yeh. Would love to see us parading Europa trophy, and them with their CL's.

"We" eh?

They play on possession. I don't know anymore is it good or not for us. Plus this is their only way to CL.

Sevilla games still make bad memories

Since 2001 Spanish teams have played non Spanish 15 times in European finals (CL & EL) with Spanish sides winning all 15 finals.

Up to Ole to break yet another streak.

Wish people would stop saying it will be easy. There's a reason they're in the final. We never play as well as we should against Spanish sides either. Last night was also a reminder of how we make things harder for ourselves.

we have a stronger team than them, we have to win this trophy, losing the final would be a very big disappointment, let's bring the cup back home!

It will be just like Seville. United will need to be clinical with the chances they get, because there won't be many and they won't be easy ones. If they do , they will win. If they don't it will be a very hard long night. If Cavani is fit and on good form, United will probably win. Otherwise it could be very fustrating. These Spanish sides are very resilient, and in one off matches are hard to beat, forget about la liga points etc, they are a good team. They will man mark Bruno and Pogba, and for long periods United will find it difficult to break them down. It will be the opposite of last night's match.

I hope you manage to get a ticket - makes sense to try and get to the match if you live in Poland as you'll have no quarantine requirements.

Unai Emery is the don of this competition. You lot kid yourselves if you think this will be a walkover.

Couldn't really care less about the trophy, but if we win we get that sweet sweet Pot 1 seeding for the CL group stages next year.

De Gea
AWB-Lindelöf-Maguire-Shaw
McTominay-Fred
Rashford-Bruno-Pogba
Cavani

Easiest lineup prediction ever if all are fit.

Hopefully we come out guns blazing, they're a very resilient team.

Can we even celebrate this trophy if City win the CL? This trophy simply need to be springboard to bigger things next year. We can’t be battling top 4, getting knocked out of domestic semi’s and playing secondary European competitions next year. We need to capitalise on the mess Madrid,Barca and Juve are in and establish ourselves as an elite side.

There won't be any parties in the street or open top parades, but we can be pleased to just win what was in front of us. It's a sign of progression if we win. Would also comfortably be our best season since Fergie for me, if we also finish 2nd too.

Of course we can. It’s still a trophy even if it’s not the biggest. We should be looking to win whatever competition we’re in, we’re not in the CL so winning that doesn’t matter right now. Win what we can and enjoy it.

Exactly. City go into every competition thinking they can win it and have built a squad to do that. That is the next step for us, build a squad so when changes are made the quality is the same. I enjoy any trophy win.

Our record against Spanish sides this season is:

Played: 4
Won: 3
Drawn: 1
For: 8
Against: 0

Sevilla were a physical side with big game experience in cups. I haven't followed Villareal much and they seem a bit stubborn and hard to break down but I don't think the two sides are all that comparable.

Who no longer even exist! Ukrainian domestic football is a complete mess currently, which probably isn’t a surprise given everything else they have to deal with currently.

I shudder to think what this place will be like if we loose the final. The Ole-out contingent will be in full voice.

Our last 4 games with them were all 0-0. Quite remarkable.

Any Villarreal fans signing up on here yet? I remember there were quite a number of Ajax ones when we played them in the final

We'll smash these chumps.

20% of their population have season tickets which is the highest in Spain. A city of only 50 thousand occupants. Which makes me wonder what’s been the smallest populated town/city to make a European final?

Good point, I'd forgotten about that. Could still end up with a horrific group like last year but surely reduces the chances.

Turn up the Pau Torres rumours. Get in the lads head.
