I will be travelling to Gdansk for the final, gutted that the ballot for the ticket has closed 2 days ago. Does anyone know where I can still get a ticket? I tried looking on the black market but can't seem to find it. Did anyone manage to apply for a ticket through the ballot successfully?

How’s Villarreal on the counter attack? I think we are going to dominate this game; we just need to take our chances and not get sucker punched. We have been amazing coming from behind but I don’t want us panicking for a goal and forcing the issue.

The best thing about this game is that Villarreal have no idea how we'll line up. Pogba in the middle or wide left? Rashford to start? They'll have to plan for quite a few scenarios.
Not really, it's straightforward. If everyone is fit, Pogba on left, Rashford on right and Cavani as forward. He won't break the McFred combo either.

Villarreal are on par with Wolves or Aston Villa. We win every day of the week, unless the players are taking it lightly or something crap happens like a red card after five minutes. Not concerned.

What's your PL equivalent of Sevilla out of interest?

I read the title and then glimpsed a baldy on the twitter pic. Was sure it was cnut cakir for a second..

The Haram Ball Arsenal played yesterday made me side with those that preferred to meet Villarreal in the final. Factor in their record against us with Arteta and we'd be looking at a frustrating 1-0 loss

We lost what, 4 semi finals in a row until we got to our first final? Hopefully Ole will have a better record in finals than in semi-finals.

Our last 8 games against Wolves: W2 D4 L2

Villareal are big-game specialists, and like many Spanish sides they have lots of Europa League experience. The media will be unable to view the fixture with anything other than complacency on our behalf. Basically the game ticks every box on the Manchester United Humiliating Defeat bingo card.

We need to be careful.

Nailed it! If we go into the game thinking we’ve already won then that’ll be curtain for us.

It’s a European final we have to play like we are facing Real or City.

Second pic for our guy.

Oh god, both of them horrible attention seekers with little man syndrome. The French one a better referee than Lahoz of course, who's basically a psychopath that plots some narrative every game he referees.
I'm fairly certain Pep absolutely hates Lahoz' guts ..

I can't understand why we should drop Rashford or Greenwood in the Final to play McTominay and Fred as a midfield two against an average spanish side. Just play Pogba there and start with Rashford on the left and Greenwood on the right. I'm confident tonight was the night where Ole was convinced of this.

We have to go for it and earn it in my opinion.

I'm just happy we're not facing Arsenal. I think we should be able to get over the line here, even we are shaky and Magure-less.

I'm very much pro Ole but we'll see how big his balls are when it comes to this game

Does he have the balls not to play McFred and play Pogba in CM?

If not does he have the balls to drop one of Pogba or Rashford and play Greenwood on the right?

For me I don't trust Pogba in midfield especially against teams that press (do Villarreal press?) so I'd go for McFred in midfield and drop one of Pogba or Rashford. Drop Pogba though and Riaola will be finding him a new club before the games even kicked off

If Maguire isn't fit for this game Ole needs to use the back 3 that beat PSG last year. That's our best tactical chance of winning without looking shaky at the back as a 2 man CB partnership without Maguire is an absolute circus.
Really hope Baz is fit for that game he's better at 50-60% fitness than any of our CBs

They play real Madrid 3 days before the final.
Madrid still in with a shout of the title.

What do they do?

Will the Spanish accept them playing the reserves ?

We should beat Villarreal, it will be completely unacceptable if we don't.

Bailly and Lindelof are a concern, however, let's hope they can get up to scratch over the next couple games.

You’re going to go without a ticket? Are you vaccinated?

You’re right, I mean 3 clowns are funnier than 2

Play Fred and Mctominay as the mid field and it will strangulate forward balls to our attacking players. Game after game this season has show that these pair are not conducive to a progressive winning mid field

Think if this was a friendly/Quarter final it would be a clear cut Utd win but as it's a final it'll be a very tight boring game and they may well nick it.
Kinda hoping they score early to wake Utd up.

Hell no I don't want them scoring early. Nice comfy 3-0 win please. A couple goals in the first half and one to wrap it up late. Put a marker down that we're gonna compete for the big stuff next year.

The Spanish will accept anything.
It’s an interesting question, Villarreal are still fighting for a EL place via the league. Question is if they will play a strong side or put all their baskets in the EL final.

So how much pressure will Solskjaer be under if he bottles this final?

Lot of big selection decisions.

Greenwood on form should play but I doubt he will.

McFred have been killing us for weeks. With Fred giving away a lot of chance for the opposition.

They will play but it's very risky. I don't believe in them at all.

None because our owners are delighted that Champions League money is already guaranteed for next season and there’s also a sizeable portion of our fanbase who’ll be happy with the ‘progress’.
Whereas constant moaning on redcafe from fans like you will ensure we win the league and CL regularly.

If Harry isn't fit its gonna be alot harder than it was originally.
I wouldn't be surprised if Matic starts instead of Fred but the rest of the team picks itself, Greenwood will come on after 65 minutes, Hopefully Martial is fit enough for the bench.
Close game I think

Yeah, I agree with that (although I don't want them to score early and be able to sit on a lead as that's probably their best strength and main tactic).

We're better than them and, if this was earlier in the competition, then I'd be quite confident our class would tell over a two legged game or a 6 match group.

But in a one-off match, anything can happen. The gulf isn't so huge that we're a cert to beat them every single time. Villarreal are a tight, competent team, with a very good manager who certainly knows how to win the EL, so I'm sure they'll put in a solid performance and will make it tough for us - especially if we don't fire going forward.

We're rightly favourites, and if we have our strongest team available, and put in a good performance, then we should get the goals and come out as winners. But we're an inconsistent team and if we don't put in a good performance, then I think it'll be a tight, low scoring game - as Villarreal want - and could go either way.

How is this not progress?
