Villarreal - Manchester United | EL Final Build-up Thread

Watched their game against Arsenal and they were organised but there was nothing much there in an attacking sense and they lost one of their forwards to a serious looking injury. We'd have to mess up really badly to lose this.

Their goalkeeper was dodgy as hell.

Let's hope we can perform in both halves instead of just one.

Quietly confident of a win but who knows with these players.

Not so sure. Villarreal have a proper manager unilke Arse. A guy that likes beating as too. And we are a bit wank against Spanish sides historically.

Arsenal know how to play these finals even while in shite form. I honestly would never trust us facing them. Villarreal aren't easy, but I prefer facing them.

Don’t get cocky ya eejits. This is the same manager that won the EL 3 times in a row for Sevilla. Be fecking warned.

They are sixth in La Liga with 18 points off fourth place. We should do them in all honesty

Four 0-0 draws in a row against them. This will be tasty.

Followed Villarreal a lot when they had Riquelme, Sorin, Forlan so have a soft spot for them. Hope we smash them.

Emery was Arsenal's manager in 2019 final. They lost 4-1 to Chelsea

Should batter them let’s be honest.

Even their best player looks to be out injured unfortunately.

The Forlan bowl

First of all, we mustn't start this game poorly as we have so many times this season, because we cannot always get away with it in the end.
If we play the way we all know we can, no doubt we will win.

Wednesday 26th May. Last European final we played on that date we won the treble.

Their record against top4 is W0 D2 L4 and they haven’t played any decent side in EL so far.

I. Am. Buzzing for this.

They are a decent outfit but below Sociedad in the table.

We are definitely the favourites, but we have to be focused, sharp, fit and move the ball quick as they are not a mobile side.

Anniversary of the 1999 Champions League Final, Matt Busby's birthday, absolutely no question we're winning.

If we go in plodding around all slow tempo, they'll fancy their chances. If we turn up, at it, at them, from the off, should be a comfortable win.

Funnily enough 538 have both City and United as 64% favourites versus Chelsea and Villarreal respectively. Betfair Exchange has us at 67.1%

United's EL pattern remains-Spanish side-Italian side-Spanish side-Italian side-Spanish side. Hopefully the results continue as well.

Theyre a tidy team but slow. Win this amd its a trophy plus top seeds for CL group draw next year so worth winning.

Massive defensive improvement required from United to win this final.

Villarreals form is impressive in the Europa league, unbeaten in their last 14 games and last lost a match in this competition in April 2019 plus they have a manager who have won the Europa league 3 times already.

Objective for United is keeping key players fit which won't be easy with the ridiculous schedule coming up.
