Victor Osimhen

Yeah but everyone is talking as if it's way above what he's worth and is proving problematic in him finding a club?

he signed the contract when he was playing better a couple of years back

I doubt anyone would offer that now

Those posts are a combination of juvenility, offensive disrespect which is bewildering how it got through their social media team but calling it racist probably misses the mark.

Calling him a coconut is about as racist as it can get

How, unless there is some historical connotation attached which I'm unaware of its just some dumb juvenile tiktok short using humor common among the younger generations.

The term coconut refers to “black on the outside, white on the inside”. It’s very offensive.

Why a coconut?

Usually this slur is if someone is black/ brown in the outside but act white on the inside.

Is it something else in Italy?

We are looking for a cultural reset, a clearing out of the bad attitudes and replacing them with hard working, dedicated players. What about this guys career gives people the impression he would fit that plan? This guy seems like nothing but trouble, trouble not worth one purple patch in Italy. Hard pass, in fact I actively hope we don't sign this guy, it would be a huge setback.
This attitude would also pass on Cantona back in the day. If there’s an opportunity for a top level player in a position we need I say take it.

Not quite the usual player “drama” . Napoli/Osimhen’s relationship is understandably broken

That is just horrendous, there is no way that he can go back to Napoli but you have to ask also with Zirkzee being linked why would any black player want to go there.

Why is he being paid such a huge salary?
Napoli got him to sign a new deal presumably so they could fetch more money when selling. His agent obviously extracted as much for his client in return.
Then it went pearshaped, with Napoli asking too much and osimhen feeling he was priced out of moving. Then the Napoli fans started insulting him etc. reaching the point where they had to get rid of him and because nobody was buying at their price and his wage demands, only way out was last minute loan to Turkey

Plays in a two with Bonaface for his country both takes turns in dropping deep?
I’m talking second striker not 10, Amorim likes to play SS, 10 creator as the two behind the mobile 9.

Maybe this is why Vlahovic as a swap for Zirkzee is being mentioned, Vlahovic also plays just behind Mitrovic for Serbia. Amorim wants more goal threat and more men in the penalty box who can score.

So why the interest in a loan deal for Kolo-Muani who is more of a wide forward providing opportunities than a goal threat in box

More options at #10 I suppose. Neither Garnacho nor Rashford were good enough. We need a guy who can get in behind in one of those two #10 spots. Maybe Amad moves back to RWB with Mendes at LWB.

But yeah hard to see why it's a priority right now.

To replace Rashford probably
It looks like the club recognise that 23 goals in 20 PL games is a huge problem and they are desperate to move out Three players ; Antony, Rashford and Zirkzee and that leaves Only Hojlund, Amad, Garnaucho, Bruno and Mount at a push when fit to play in those three attacking spots. Add Casemiro and the rumour that a Saudi team will offer £20m. That’s why the club is not taking loan deals and are looking to sell all four players.

The scattergun approach for attackers; Osimhen, K Muani, D Vlahovic, Gykores and now Brian Mbeumo. We are clearly looking to try and bring at least two in which is a left wing back, a CF and maybe a CM on loan.

We need Antony being sold for £15m, Casemiro for £20m, J Zirkzee for £35m and Rashford for £40m. That’s £110m which would allow you to buy B Mbeumo(50m), K Muani ( Loan), N Mendes(40m), and D Luis(loan obligation to buy?

It’s never going to happen be side Rashford is going nowhere and nor is Antony as no one’s paying their wages?

WTH!! That's outright racist!

From the official account makes it even worse.
That video is of really bad taste and insulting specially coming from the official club account, but I dont see why it's racist? maybe its a cultural thing but I found it offensive but didnt found the racism:confused:

My figures are based on Capology. Might be off but seems unlikely. What's your estimate based on?
The reports of astronomical wages have followed Osimhen for years now. They were also a stumbling block with Chelsea. If he were on €120k, he’d be underpaid given his standing, and coming to almost any English club on a pay increase. Does that sound realistic to you?

What reports are these citing astronomical wages? 15 - 20mn euros gross (if we accept what's been quoted above), would be his highest salary ever and that's an average salary for a starting attacker at a top 4 Premier League club, as it works out to about 200-250mn GBP net wages per week. How's that astronomical? It's widely reported that Chelsea offered 90m GBP net(given their financial troubles), btw, while Osimhen insisted simply on parity with current earnings. Meanwhile, the Saudis were offering exponnentially more. That's why that deal fell through.

Since the move to Galatasary, the highest figure any source has reported for his current pay is 11mn euros which would make him the Turkish League's highest earner. It's highly unlikely they're paying anything significantly higher than this and it's highly unlikely he's taken a near 50% pay cut to go to Turkey, which makes the 15-20mn figure quite unlikely.

More realistically, he was on 10-15mn euros at Napoli and is now on 10 -11mn euros at Galatasary. But even if he was on 20mn euros that wouldn't be astronomical for the Premier League.

He wasn’t coming for parity. That has been a stumbling block.

We should at least be asking the question whether there's any possibility of signing him now. I know that an Italian source said he doesn't want to leave in this window, however how reliable is that source for Napoli.

Jeez just had a look on the Napoli reddit and boy does their fanbase want rid of him in a bad way. He has been described as a cancer and toxic influence on the dressing room.

There's basically no tax in Turkey on player salaries. That's turkish clubs manage to sign all these players on big wages while having little money for transfers. 11m in turkey basically goes all in his pockets. He hasn't taken a pay cut technically
