Victor Osimhen | out of options | goes to Gala on loan

It's an Italian journalist known for his sources in Italian football reporting on a transfer involving a player playing for an Italian club.

If your immediate reaction is that the Glazers or their henchmen must have fed him that story, that's straight up paranoia. The world doesn't revolve around Joel Glazer.
Sorry, one of Joel's henchman is under strict orders to plant obscure stories with random Italian journalists which 99% of fans will never hear about in a bid to win the fans approval when we inevitably don't sign him. Makes loads of sense.

Fabrizio Romano is also Italian, but gets tips from United more than most. You can think whatever you want, but this is a non-argument

Either way, this whole conversation has gone sideways. The point was that - there is no way in hell Osimhen is coming to United and the people most benefitting from such bullshit stories are Glazers, but here you are arguing endlessly whether Glazers have henchmen or not. Sigh

Wow, a number of people here underrating Osimhen are really shocking. He is one of the best young strikers in the game and last season's best young player in Italy. Napoli was on a very good run until his injury and they just massively missed him to keep it with other teams.

He has everything to excel in a demanding league as EPL is: pace, power, aggressiveness, heading ability and great finish. With more and more teams pressing us high, in lacking of someone with the FDJ quality to progress ball from midfield, I honestly think ETH would like him to be his "target" as he described Rashford in post-match interview.

Of course, he would cost a fortune, Napoli bought him just two years ago for €70m and he is only 23, which is, by the standards here good side of the twenties. It's fecking 2022., Nunez recently went for 100m and I like Osimhen more.

Keep in mind Di Marzio is a huge Napoli fan and i get the feeling he's getting a bit carried away with this

Break the bank for him, we desperately need that sort of striker leading the line

There's no universe where we get both him and Antony. He's probably the back up if the antony deal fails. I'm not overly impressed anyway.

This guy is going to be a top quality striker but there isn't a hope United will sign him especially in this window .. He cost napoli close to €80 million so if they are selling him it will be for at least £100 million and that's a deal United just won't do .

More rumours around today!

This performance against Leicester basically sums him up! Powerful, dangerous, hard working but also inconsistent and capable of the sublime and the ridiculous!

Would be a brilliant signing.
Can't think of a better young striker who is gettable

Would love this guy at the club. A proper striker who has good consistent numbers in the last 4 seasons, and only 23.

But I’m not getting excited by this just yet, cannot see how this happening at all.

Hasn’t his agent said he wants to stay at Napoli?

Glazers out and no more leeches sucking blood from this club, then we will have funds for both.

Cannot believe so many prefer FDJ or Anthony to Osimhen. A good striker is almost everything for success in modern football... Look at what RVP did to us and Haaland to City... Osimhen is raw but has everything a good striker needs, plus his pace is so much needed in the current United squad...

I watch Napoli and Serie A regularly and yes, the price tag is really high but don't get it twisted, Osimhen is a superb footballer. He is rapid, great in the air, he has a massive engine never stops running and is not half bad in the build-up either. He would be a significant boost to the squad without question. However, I want us to go in for him next year because I doubt the yanks are willing to spend €100m on two players in the same window. However, if the Antony deal dies, i'm not opposed to an Osimhen deal this window provided we don't cover any of Ronaldo's wages.

For the price quotes, I’d expect a Haaland level talent, which I don’t feel Osimhen is at this moment. Would be a vast improvement on what we have though, so if we get a good deal it may turn out to be an upgrade.

Think he'd be a excellent signing but I just dont see it in the remaining few days.

I remember him tearing Leicester apart last season (I think), they couldn’t live with him. He scored twice to knock them out. That’s all I’ve seen of him but he seems to be the physical sort who can also play a bit too. I’d rather we went for someone like that than just just a big lump.

Not worth more than £50m - Not very clinical at all - he is fast, athletic and actually a decent pass with good work rate but technically poor with rash shooting

Unfortunately will never reach those levels

His agent already said he wants to stay at Napoli and play CL football. 100 percent not gonna happen.

100m for a player who’s never scored 15 in any league.

Pass.
