He scored a winning penalty against Brighton in semis 2 seasons ago. Penalty is not an issue, but think it wasn't great cameo. Understandable to extent as he rarely gets a chance to play these days but also it showed why he'll be leaving in 3 months. Not good enough to be an option. I'm much more confident with Evans at the back even though he's 37 years old.

Fair play for stepping up.
But a reserve centre back probably shouldn't be taking the 3rd pen. Should be an 8th-11th job.

He's a weird one, isn't he? Never really looked like a United level player, but since he was never among the biggest of our problems and always seemed to be a good professional, he managed to keep his place in the squad for eight seasons.

He can do his customary crutches in the summer to stop being sold then realise he's out of contract

He's one of those players that you spot at a party when it's already 3 or 4 hours in flow, and you thought that they either weren't invited in the first place or that they left hours ago.
more like the prick lands to the party with no beer but ends up full as a gypsies tit

A great guy to have around when there's loads with you, but not someone you'd want to rely on as a wingman.

Shouldn’t play again this season, far too passive. Heaven looked the better player on his debut for the club.

Soon as I saw him standing only a few steps away from the ball I knew he going for power, keeper knew too and he didn't take it wide enough. That's by the way anyone can miss them.
I was surprised he was brought on though.

He was poor when he came on, plus he's not a very good player at the best of times, so I was not confident of him scoring.

No idea why he came on, let alone why he’s still at the club. He has been my least favourite player in the squad for ages. Weak, passive, slow. Forget the penalty miss tonight, all of his other faults were on display.

Think Amorim was managing Yoro's and Maguire's minutes as we've got Sociedad on Thursday so Lindelof and Haven were brought on.

Injuries - both spent the last few years of their contracts as unsellable assets

Well there was no need to put either of them on their long contracts. Just plain stupid. Now we have Shaw costing a fortune, contributing absolutely nothing. And it seems we already got his successor in fecking Mount

I'd honestly question the persons judgement who allowed him to take a penalty. I knew he was going to miss as soon as I saw him walking to the spot.

Why or rather how the feck is he still here???

Sell for a bag of crisps in the summer.

Agree with that. Our contract renewal policy over the years has been very frustrating - a run of good form gets you a new long-term contract with a salary raise.

Unless the other players chickened out there’s no excuse.

There was barely an array of pen machines lining up.
Zirkzee missed later, Garnacho not interested , leaving just teens, De ligt or the keeper!

Sorry but he was never good enough but when he came 100 years ago and not now. Brutally mediocre and shouldn't be anywhere near this team.

He's scored a winning penalty in a shoot out before for us. He was obviously going to take one given who was left on the pitch

I agree. The pool wasn't great. Still, he didn't look convincing at any moment in time, not during the game, not after. I'd say that him getting intimidated and getting timid is a rather known issue with him. If Garnacho said no, Lindelof should have said no too. Obviously the loss isn't on him, penalties are always a bit of a lottery.

Garnacho as an attacking player not taking a pen certainly isn't a good look is it?
At least the likes of Dalot, Casemiro and Lindelof stood up as senior players.

Not isn't the greatest look. But I guess, the younger players struggle with confidence and I could totally understand him not wanting to get into the limelight.
