We just hate to say goodbye.

Bailly 7 years.

Lindelof 8 years.

Jones 12 years.

Shaw 11 years and counting.
Yeah we’ve got to get away from this. I read something around the time when INEOS took over that players would get a couple of years and if they’re not up to it they’ll be shipped out. Let’s see if they back that up.

So the guy who conveniently pick am injury every transfer window so he will never be pressured to leave came out to feck us up. Has we ever had a player more useless the icicle?

No issue with him stepping up, he has done before. It was a poor penalty
His performance at cb was the bigger problem
The even bigger problem is that he's still a united player in 2025

Garnacho as an attacking player not taking a pen certainly isn't a good look is it?
At least the likes of Dalot, Casemiro and Lindelof stood up as senior players.
I was hoping Garnacho wouldn't take one. His ball striking very hit and miss and going through an even longer goal drought than Hojlund.

The 5 takers were the ones I expected.

This isn’t just about the missed penalty, it’s more about the fact that he’s still our player when we all expected him to be sold 2–3 seasons ago.

You're right but its also funny. The caf moans non stop about him having shots and now its that he doesnt have one  But yes. Same thing when we played Arsenal and Zirkzee only took a penalty because everyone kept scoring, so everyone needed to take a penalty. An attacking player especially one thats supposed to score needs to step up for penalties. At least he did today, but we saw that hes not very good at them

Don't you just love a defender that never tries to defend, always backing off. We should have conceded when he fell over by doing nothing and de Ligt had to save him.

Why is this clown still here, been dogshit since day one. I don't understand why Mourinho even signed he's the most non Mourinho player to ever exist.

Some dodgy moves in defense and a poor penalty. Positive was he won back the ball with control for our only goal. With harry injured I suppose he starts on Thursday.

For a guy who’s spent most of the season injured or watching on the bench, and by all reports is leaving the club in 3 months time, it seemed a fairly ludicrous move to have him as our 4th penalty taker. Hindsight I know but it just looked odd before the kick.

Basically this. Screw the penalty, happens even to the very best of takers. Why he is still playing for us in 2025 is the much bigger issue.

Yeah, couldn't give a shit about a missed penalty - it happens (In fact, fair fecks to him stepping up - where's Garnacho?)

Him being the usual shite at CB is the main thing - I realise he'd be very rusty after coming back from injury, but it was the pretty standard Lindelof defending we've seen over the years.

Less than 3 months of the Iceman...Imagine!

Another one the players who should have been sold before their first contract came to an end but came mightily close to a testimonial. I am going to celebrate when he finally leaves. He is one of the era defining players for us: weak, middling, overpaid and overstayed.

Wasn’t it Victor who sent us through to the final or something last year in a penalty shootout ? He was in the chosen 5, unbelievable there are people trying to pin this on Garnacho not “stepping up” :annoyed:

Lindelof has had periods in the past where he's been decent. Not to the extent that he should have been a starter, but he'd have been a good squad player during those seasons.

However he's been absolutely shocking the last 18 months. If what Heaven showed is a sign of what's to come then hopefully he will quickly overtake Lindelof in the pecking order for the rest of the season.

Few United players I dislike more than him. His debut season was one of the worst ever soon, he improved marginally in stages upon that but has always been too soft, not good enough. He plays one good long pass once every season.. really wonder how he's still here.

If we somehow end up extending his contract, might actually lose it.

Imagine Victor Lindelof taking a penalty for United in 2025, how the feck did that even happen?

He's scored the winner in a shootout for us before so I don't really know why he's getting shit for that. Usually decent at them.

His overall performance after coming on was pretty poor though and his time here is nearly done.

Agreed, I respect anyone who is in the first 5 takers.

He's not good enough for us and finally leaves this summer, but missing a peno happens to everyone, Messi and Ronaldo included, so hardly something to beat a CB with.

Joint party?

Sadly over the past years we had a dozen players more useless than him. That shows how a calamity of a football club we have become.

How is he still at the club? 8 years. That's double the time Yorke spent at United. 2 years more than Ronny Johnsen, a far more capable centre back than Lindelof.

Yorke - 4 years.
Sheringham - 4 years.
Forlan - 2 years.
Van Nistelrooy - 5 years.
Ronny Johnsen - 6 years.
Stam - 3 years.
Henning Berg - 3 years.

We used to be ruthless. Little wonder that standards have slipped when you let flops linger around the club for so long.

I've always said it. We need to improve our recruitment. We have to be able to handle a high staff turnover (players) on a summer in summer out basis and we need to be able to get rid of our players for decent money

In fairness though, we moved those players on with ease because they were class and had plenty of takers. The combination of a lack of money for transfers in continental leagues coupled with the absolute dross we want to get rid of and it is no surprise we cannot shift them these days.

my good lord...this epitomises our current ethos as opposed to the past. are we the worst run business in the world? we are definitely the worst run club in PL history. need to rethink clauses in contracts for a start. both performance based and in regards injuries. drastic steps but we are in crisis

He got bullied by every CF in the League. Can not wait to see the back of him. Spinless player.

The most passion he has shown on the football field was the argument he had with Bruno last year. 8 years. Unbelievable.

He hasn’t really. His best period came when Maguire and De Gea were made the scapegoat for his refusal to do any bit of defending unless it’s in the penalty box.
