We can't be a top team with him and Maguire as our centre backs. We need someone with pace in there.
I can't quite put my finger on it, but I feel tired just watching him. He looks to be in survival mode all the time. I keep wondering when he's going to faint from the adrenaline rush.
He was outmuscled by Leighton Baines, too physically and mentally weak.
Unfortunately he hasn't progressed a bit after decent last season. Usually forces the other centrebeck to do all defending and doesn't show any outstanding ball-playing skills.
I personally don’t think he had a great game, even though it wasn’t a disaster. But around here he’s got a lot of haters who exaggerate and think every small mistake is proof of deficiencies. It's not a overreaction when there's a pattern. There were 3 moments during the game that exemplified his lack of quality which come up again and again and again.
When he gives a corner while trying to drive the ball outside with a player pressuring him. He's not strong enough.
When he gets in the same situation on the attacking end and is overtaken by a smaller guy than him.
Worst one was when he was turnt upside down by Richarlison and gives away a very dangerous free kick. Why was he turnt upside down? Because he shows his back on the inside when every defender worth his salt knows you drive the attacker on the outside and therefore decrease the risks substantially.
He's not at fault for the last minute Everton goal though. That was an exceptional pass from Bernard.
Your expectations are far too low for a Manchester United fan. This is a club that has had exceptional talent in the defense for at least 4 decades in a row.

I think the problem is what you write at the end. People remembering back in the days when Rio played etc and don’t seem to understand that those days are gone. Yes there is one very dominant CB in Liverpool but the league in general is much more competitive now compared to United’s golden days.
I watch a lot of football from different leagues but mostly PL. What you, and many others who seem a little stuck in the past, see as mistakes that exemplify/proof deficiencies with a defender, happen all the time in all matches. Everton is not a weak attacking team. DCL and Richarlison have 13 and 10 PL goals, respectively. Everton have scored against all top teams. They create chances.
So no, my expectations are not “far too low”. They are realistic. United have one of the best defensive records this season and I don’t think that would have been better with Bailly, Smalling, Alderweireld, and who else has been discussed.
We've got the 5th best defensive record in the league, it's not good enough.I personally don’t think he had a great game, even though it wasn’t a disaster. But around here he’s got a lot of haters who exaggerate and think every small mistake is proof of deficiencies.

I think his lack of pace and lack of strength is an issue when combined with the lack of pace of Maguire and Matic. People talk about Tuanzabe who has never played regularly at this level who has shown nothing that he is good enough to play at this level. I do not think Smalling wants to come back to United so we may need a top quality CB to sort this mess out.
There are three teams with better defensive record. Liverpool are clearly better. Leicester are slightly better (2 goals) but well ahead in the table. Sheffield U are better in that sense but worse overall because they don’t score goals. So, of the teams in position where we want to be there is only Liverpool who are clearly better defensively. We've got the 5th best defensive record in the league, it's not good enough.
He is not a PL CB. You can see how uncomfortable he is on the pitch. He knows it as well.
Iceman nickname has to be a joke surely, he is shitting in his pants every second game. He has no chemistry with anyone, and nobody knows what he is doing or where he is or what he does. He is just randomly and casually playing CB for us most games, without being good enough
And their defensive record is much better than ours so we need to get much better. Lindelof is not part of the solution.Tuanzebe might turn out well, but as you write , he has not shown to be at this level yet. Also seem very fragile.
I also believe Smalling will leave and he’s not the way to go anyway.

He's just so weak.
That bit near the end where he had the ball out wide following a Utd corner and he was just easily shrugged off the ball and it went out for a goal kick was so annoying.
I think we should be getting a centre back with pace and physicality to compliment Maguire. In an ideal world that would be Bailly but I don't think he can be trusted.
Muscled off the ball by Baines of all people. Baines. A guy who's a midget compared to Lindelof.
On the rare occasions he wins an aerial duel he almost always seems to head the ball towards the centre of the park, towards the opposition. Never towards the sidelines.Fecking hell is he terrible at heading the ball. Gets bullied too often and should be replaced with anyone who doesn't get outmuscled in every second duel.
Liverpool are not only better defensively, they are better in every aspect of the game. But it’s weird to read that people want to replace Lindelof with Smalling. Have they watched Smalling play lately? He cost his team 2 or even 3 goals today and cost another handball penalty. And their defensive record is much better than ours so we need to get much better. Lindelof is not part of the solution.
MEN gave him a 4 rating
fecking hell it was Baines?
Just pathetic from Lindelof.
