I don’t see how that is a Lindelof alone factor. For me that is always part of the evaluation and for me that is main reason why I like Jones. His flexibility and allowing Lindelof to play to the right. Probably why he got a new contract.

Fair enough. Sounds like you're one of the few people on here that gives Jones a fair shot. If you're consistent with every right footed LCB and you bump up their rating because they werent playing RCB, then I do take it back.

But forgive me for thinking you wouldnt apply the same to Jones as I'm sure you can agree, the majority of people on the caf and from what I've seen, the majority of the people championing Lindelof think Jones is rubbish and would certainly not take into account the fact he's playing LCB.

Dont forget Jorginho's pass to Higuain running in behind him, where he had 1 good touch but then ruined it with a bad 2nd touch and put his shot over the net.

How would you suggest Lindelof should have behaved in that situation? He reacts quickly and puts pressure on him quickly after his first touch. If midfielders like Jorginho are allowed space and time to ping passes like that, it will always be challenging for the defenders

Smallings ball watching before that was much worse. Somehow you dont mention that one.

But both did good overall.

No problem, I think Jones has been judged in an unfair way the last matches, probably because of his history and because people want him to go. He has been pretty good in those matches imo and considering the few matches him and Lindelof have together, it looked better than I expected. I think United are in a position right now where all four CBs perform well. (I have no clue where Rojo is). It would be great if United got a world class CB for next season, but I think there are other positions where the money would be better spent. To get a CB who would really add something, I think United would need to cough up at least 60-70 million.

I love him. Van Dijk is obviously just a freak of a centre back but he's measuring extremely well against the rest and he's only going to get better and better. Shame he's missing today but we should hopefully cope v these.

fecking hell, van Dijk is having a historical season.

For anyone interested, Victor will be on Fredrik Skavlan Saturday night.

That’s quite a scoop by Skavlan! Not sure I want to listen to an hour of «eeehmm, øøøøhhh» though :smirk:

Really like this graphic. Is it for their PL history or based on this season? I'd like to see how it looks since the last month of Jose/Oles first match

So you just changed your argument completely. You were saying it shows opposition fans thought he had the better match

No I haven't.

You're the one that keeps bringing up the Chelsea game.

I'm talking about the season as a whole. Lindelöf has had a better season than Smalling and that reflects on the ratings he's got on here and also in the media.

Was not the most amazing interview... did not look very comfortable.
Some family talk about engagement and the kid who is about to arrive in 7 weeks. He thought he got his nickname Iceman partly because he is not so outward in media and partly because his way of playing football. Private he has a temper however, his wife said. When he relaxes he either play PlayStation or watch when other guys play on YouTube. The most interesting was when Skavlan asked about Solskjær. He admitted that OGS has got the players to believe in his way of playing and given them confidence, but he was very reluctant to answer any questions if that (confidence etc) was missing before. You could see how he did not want to say anything negative about Mourinho. Don’t know if it is because he likes Mourinho, or if he is the kind of guy who never speaks badly about anybody.

All together, nice to see a little longer interview with him but he is really the kind of guy who wants to talk football when he is interviewed, not any private life. Even if he is not so funny or clever in interviews it is very difficult to not like the guy. Genuinely humble and fully focused to do his best for the club.

Thought he was a bit defensively rubbish in his first season, but must admit he's been outstanding for us this season. A top player.

He and Smalling make excellent pair by the looks of it. Shaw's been very good today too, long may it continue. Hopefully we can sort out our RB in the summer too.

You never speak badly about your previous coach when you have another manager in place, it's common sense.

Excellent today, quiet domination. Made it look very easy and allowed Smalling a bit of an armchair ride.

Had one scare with his pass in the first half, other than that solid along with Smalling. And he had a dribble or two into midfield

Im not sure what makes me happier; Viktor putting on another good display or Ekeke actually giving him some credits;)

A couple of moments early on that were a bit off but settled into the game and was very good for the remainder of it.

Looked like he barely had anything to do today if we're being honest! Made it look so easy. Hes been class and come a long way.
