Was against buying him and he still is doing everything to proves me right. Don't understand this buy really. He is our lovren

It's become such a myth this. Right from the get go you could see Vidic meant business even if he was still adapting.

Re Lindelof: I don't recall another player having such a slow start to their U it's career. I can't believe the adapting process is this difficult.
Totally agree with this.

The biggest issue with him is he's far too small to be a PL centre back. He looked good on Wednesday against a team where everything was to feet and everyone was under 6 foot tall. In the prem you come up against all sorts and you have to head the ball multiple times during a game, you have to be strong in a physical altercation. No amount of experience is going to make him better at these things and this is where it's very different to Rio and Vidic. They were built to be centre backs. This guy clearly isn't. I can see him moving towards being maybe a wing back. He's 6'2 which isn't "short" but he's just not got the build.
It's got nothing to do with height. Like you said 6'2 is perfectly acceptable most CB's are around that height. To me he's just not doing the very basics of defending right. The height thing is the most bizarre line of attack I've ever seen in this context :D

Annoys me to no end that two bigger talents in Tuanzebe and TFM was overlooked to sign this absolute dud.

They are not only bigger talents, they are also despite of being several years his junior better at present than Lindelöf.

Those defending him saying "he's adapting", is heading the ball from a kick up field different in the prem to other leagues? Have a word.

If Jones's injury is serious he needs to pick himself up, and do that fast. The clock is against him, and it's a question of how long before Jose turns against him and that will be that for him. Sadly but that's football and I think Mourinho is unforgiving in that regard.

What's even more annoying is we could have spent that cash on a FB or even a better quality of attacker than Lingard.

He shouldn't be in the squad for our next matches, the bigger talent and better player in Tuanzebe should.

Yepp it was a very strange priority. Lukaku and Matic made up for it though. Still weird that we signed what we least needed least (apart from goalkeepers). Another winger or fullback would have been more useful since we do got Blind and Tuanzebe already as decent cover. While we lack cover much more in other areas and could have needed the winger.

Peresic we wante, but didn't get though. Still we should have had more targets you would have thought.

He is shambolic. 30m transfer, played in Europe and for his country and you'd get better performances out of a lad from the u18s. Poor from whoever scouted him, and Lindelof himself.

Why did we buy him? I don't understand it at all. Between Bailly, Jones, Smalling, Rojo, and Blind, we had enough guys for the job.

If anything, we needed a veteran Centerback who could have put in a shift from time to time and added experience at back which we lack. Someone like Pepe or Fonte would have been much better choices. They could have been valuable squad members for year or two, in the meantime guys like Tuanzebe and Roshaun Williams could have stepped up.

Absolute waste of money. We desperately needed a leftback and we wasted money with this guy. Even if he significantly improve, I doubt he is reaching Bailly, Rojo or Jones' level anytime soon.

Yeah I wasn't really attacking his height hence me mentioning his height and pointing out he's not that short. It's just his overall build looks well off to me. Blind and Mascherano are shorter yet they look "bigger" when they're at CB. It doesn't make sense really but then it does if you know what I mean.

When he signed , I couldn't figure out why, he ain't a mourinho player imo. I suggested that he'd been signed on zlatans recommendation, some of the resident experts scoffed and told me ...as if that happens in football . I still stand by it.

At this point, it seems like that was definitively the reason.

I say give him until the end of December to adapt, if by then he hasn't got his act together, get rid of him in the January window. United needs to be ruthless with players the same way they were with Moyes and Van Gaal. The decision to sell Blackett and loan Fosu Mensah is looking more wrong each passing day, and Jones can't stay fit, get rid of him aswell if he doesn't improve.

Blackett? Are you having a laugh?

He just isn't a good player full stop. He probably can play better than we have seen but he isn't top quality which is what we want and need.

Sell him and buy a replacement, end of story. Loaning him won't make him any faster or better in the air. Sell him for whatever we can get and we can all forget about him.

Jones is a very good defender and just by looking at his reaction when he went down on the ground.. he himself knows that he is playing well and just needs some luck. I am hoping that he recovers soon.

Horrible mistake. Think he tried to head it back to de gea or something. I would say Mourinho fecked him out of it at half time. Just head back towards their end. To be trying that away from home is criminal. At home, yes, when we are dominant.

Having said that I still have hope he makes it here. Has to cut out these errors though. Like I said, take the easy option, just head it back where it came from.

In fairness he's not much worse than Smalling was when he arrived. Fletcher was even worse than those two. Problem is he has a manager who has very little patience when it comes to young players making mistakes. He obviously shat himself out there today. He looks too lightweight to be a center back but still far too early to write him off. Might need a loan next season. The media are calling for Tom Cleverley to get an England call up such is his performance level at Watford so very hard to guage when a talented footballer might take it to the next level

I think he was trying to head it back to De Gea. With De Gea being so far out, it could have being an OG.

Just head it back towards their end.

The same Blackett who failed at Celtic

He's not even a Championship level player.
Tyler Blackett was embarrassingly bad at Celtic, who were a pretty mediocre team at the time. They lost at home to Molde in the Europa League, Blackett was so bad he was subbed after coming on as a sub. Celtic sent him back he was so bad. Lindelof is struggling, but I don't think he is as bad as Blackett.
Anyone who remembers Vidic's first few months at United will recall a player who looked well out of his depth, Evra came at the same time and also looked well off the pace. The loss to City around this time made me question if Fergie had lost his touch in the transfer market, I don't think I was the only one.
That said, Lindelof needs to shape up soon, he really is struggling.

We just didn't need another CB considering the rest of our issues(I know our CB's are injury prone).

It seems like a pointless buy.

Abysmal. This is quite clearly a level too high for him. Quality wise he is out of his depth. As said before cant understand why we bought him

I wish people would stop bringing up Vidic. When he struggled at least he still showed bravery, but was a bit rash, sort of like Bailly. Lindelof is nothing like Vidic. I'm not really sure what his qualities are.... I mean sure if you give him all the time and space in the world, he can carry the ball out of defense and pick out a pass.

On the ball, I don't think he's that bad, but it's the ball's in the air that are the problem. He's all over the place with his judgement.

I'd be surprised if he didn't go on loan at the end of the season.
