That is an excellent point. If it’s clear and obvious why the need to look at it repeatedly so many times? A clear and obvious error should be evident on first viewing.

It was bad enough when that little sprinting bloke came on and suddenly looked like Messi, when you know he's made no impact before at this level, and won't again.
But Ings? He had that one good goal scoring season yonks ago.
 
Refs are still shit with or without VAR

May as well go without so we don't have to go to 100 minutes every game

It's the impossibility of the situation they've got into with VAR.

Initially there to confirm "clear and obvious" mistakes.
Now, no-one quite knows how miniscule something can be given for, or how long it can take to sort.

I see that as largely irrelevant.

Human nature to make more of a decsion if it l costs you a point or turns a lead into a draw, but a bad decision is a bad decision and that's a terrible one.

Wish sometimes people whether it be fans, players or managers would make more of bad decisons that don't cost them too, like a dodgy penalty given against a team when they win 4-1 anyway, or not being given an obvious one to make it 5-1 but they never do. Think we should look at things seperately from result where possible but undertsand why that's rare.

It's just an awful implementation of VAR no matter the state of the game at the time. Clear and obvious / high bar thrown out of the window completely for a coming together / collision with neither player really at fault.

Clear and obvious that, as a referee, you will never get a hard time for giving a decision against Man Utd. We saw it last season: Onana got away with a 50/50 on the first day of the season, we then went months without getting any decisions. All because of the media reaction to us 'getting all the decisions.'

In reality, a referee will never, ever get real heat for making bad calls against us. That's why Casemiro gets sent off for grapping a collar, whereas other players can get away with putting hands. As a referee if you make a decision in our favour you can expect blogs, columns, entire radio and tv segements dedicated to your performance. Whereas if things go against Man Utd, nobody is going to shed any tears and there's no more Sir Alex Ferguson to call you out.

Referees will often take the easy road. Its easy to make decisions against Man Utd. Whereas if you do it for us, you have to be ready for the whole weight of English football journalism and punditry to be at you, potentially for weeks even months. A lot of referees see no benefit in that.
 
VARs for fouls or handballs should not be played in slow motion to the on field refs, and all possible camera angles should be sent. Also there should be no communication from the VAR room allowed other than "this is being referred back". Preferably, however, the on field ref should request VAR playback or, better still, a team captain who gets up to three VAR playback referrals per game. No need for a second VAR ref then...

Suppose it’s part of the premier league ‘product’, it isn’t an accident it’s deliberate to cause drama.
 
Diaz allowed to kick the ball away literally under Taylor’s nose when Taylor is looking right at it. No yellow.


Different rules for this club.
 
Putting ETH aside, we have to be raising all hell after that decision, like Liverpool did last season v Spurs.

Demand the audio, demand an apology, demand a replay - the lot. Put every ounce of pressure from the board to the players on the referees. It won't make any difference to today, but we won't have those decisions going against us again.

Doku kicking McAllister in the chest last season wasnt he said. What are we all doing? Why is no professional pundit or journalists linking this absolutely inexplicable calls, depending on what team benefits and doesnt. The man is corrupt. It really is as plain to see as anything

On the bright side, at least this decision costed us in a game the club doesn't care about.

Imagine if we were in a title race or something!

too tepid. Shoulder shrug and move on.

If West Ham concede that penalty, the manager will be fuming and it's turned into a week long media story
 
Konate just takes out Martinelli and that was 100% penalty. You look at that not given compared to ghost decision against us. Patethic.
 
Far more in that challenge on Martinelli that was immediatiely cleared by VAR than what was given against de Ligt.

It'll have to be one hell of a decision for VAR to intervene in this game.

But smuggle one in for a midtable United v Wham not on proper tv, no worries.
