VAR, Refs and Linesmen | General Discussion

It’s getting to the point where it’s harder and harder to explain how theyre coming to these decisions without looking to corruption.

there is no excuse for that penalty. football is dead.

I'm very confused as to what determines a penalty nowadays. More so than before VAR was introduced.
It’s ok Dermot Gallagher will explain it to you. Both Van Dijk challenges were definitely not penalties despite being much more contact. Casemiro was definitely a penalty despite him barely touching him. Don’t call him a hypocrite, you’re just trying to catch him out and he can’t win.

I can’t be arsed. Commentary teams are a bunch of hypocrites too

This women needs to shut the feck up about how wolves deserve one because of the shit that’s gone against them.. as if that’s meant to make us feel better about the bullshit decision.

The fact that it’s the geezer in the VAR room who didn’t give one for the same thing last night is insaneo

Same as the Bruno pen the other week. Neither a pen, but once it's given its never gunna be over turned because of the "contact".

That's either grossly incompetent for an on-field referee to give and VAR to confirm and they should be relegated to non-league officiating, or it's match fixing.

There's no other plausible explanation for what we've just witnessed.

Just noticed that it's Tierney on VAR too. Can't make it up :D

You as a club better use that win to lay into the refs and VAR.

feck this shit I’m done with it.

It’s going to be a real head scratcher for Gallagher. “That particular Referee has a higher threshold for penalty contact than that VAR operator”.

Err… Dermot…

This club needs to say something. It is beyond normal. I’m disgused by amount of decisions against us.

I get why VAR didn’t overturn it. There was minimal contact. Never should have been given in the first place.
Howard Webb has been on the 'Officials Mic'd Up' program saying they were going to start asking referees what they think they've seen...

Surely in this scenario, VAR ask him what he's seen, referee says contact from Casemiro causing Wolves attacker to fall, VAR say that's not what's happened and overturn.

We are now at the stage where ANY contact is now a VAR-certified penalty if you fall to the floor afterwards.

So now all of a sudden refs know how much contact is enough to put a player running at speed down to the ground. I'll wait until the new gameweek when the excuse will be ''Well there was contact!''
Didn't even take 24 hours for them to prove your point.

Depends on team. Look at yesterday. Chelsea should have 3 penalties but We know what happened.

There needs to be investigation. This is not normal.

If Dermot writes this off with it being the EXACT same person on VAR as the Liverpool game, I’m gonna drive him to the dole office myself

At this point, if anyone can continue to deny the undeniable referee agenda, they relinquish any right to be taken seriously.

It is literally every single game this season, without exception. EVERY game.

Never a pen, VAR needs people who can use the tech and challenge the refs on field decisions.

I didn't catch the game yesterday. Were they given on field and then over turned? Or not given on field? Think that makes a difference here.

He’s just there to justify the bullshit decisions by his mates. Completely pointless to have him there at all other than to generate social media clicks of everyone calling him a twat.

Can we get someone to come out and rage at the state of it all? It’s literally hell on earth the times we benefit from it. But we’ve seen so many go against us and there’s feck all being said.

Yeah that's not a penalty.

The Chilwell one was a dive. He didn't even try and claim it.

The Nkunku one definitely should have been given.

Not given by ref. Checked by VAR who backed the on pitch decision.

Yeah that's not a penalty.

Chilwell blatantly dived. Gallagher and Nkunku should have been pens though.

The Gallagher one is probably a harder call than Nkunku. Maybe why it wasn't given.

The Nkunku one is blatant.

Problem is I don't have a leg to stand on when Jota gets one like he did in the Newcastle game.

You just know Tierney's email password contains the letters Y N W A in sequence.
