VAR and Refs | General Discussion

I think the first one is soft but the other two would have no complaints if they were given.

I also do think though that they're in that white noise zone where they are sometimes given by refs and sometimes not, and they're not so far in one way that VAR would change it. On the balance of what has been given this season though, they should have been pens. It's just funny that Forest have this "the world is against us mentality" in terms of referees. They were poor today with or without ref decisions.

VAR is basically worthless, they never change decisions. I dont really disagree with your larger point but its just way too frequent for them to feck up like this.

The "top 6 would get them" comment annoys me. Could easily pull up half a dozen decisions we havent had this year. Every club could! Or are we not a top 6 club now? :(

This is it.
Ask any non United fan and they'll be adamant we get the rub of the green. They'll probably still bore on about that Onana Wolves incident early season. Yet funnily enough be dumb about about 10 incidents we can name instantly.

Like the pen we conceded v City, the non pen v Tottenham when their man had his hands in the air.
Away at Arsenal - Hojlund being bundled over, and then Evans being blocked off for their winner. That's before we get the clip analysed of Garnacho's offside late on too.
Plenty of others people could suggest too.

Yeah but they were all against the other big 6 :wenger:

Its hard to understand how you don’t get 1 penalty from those 2 challenges when there is VAR

Neither meets the threshold for intervention and they're having a laugh for the handball.

If the ref gave either of the fouls I don't think they'd send him to the monitor either though. They're just marginal penalty calls, I can kind of understand the frustration as other teams got soft spot kicks and they haven't in this game.

Nah mate.

Footballs dead. How on earth can they not give the grealish one which was stonewall but give that.

I disagree. 2 clear fouls in the box not sure what threshold that cannot reach. The last one is clear as day

I'm well pleased for Coventry but in no universe should the United penalty be given and the City one not.

That's not a pen either, ball to hand and there's no unnatural position. VAR don't think it's bad enough to review I guess.

It's the ludicrous inconsistency that'll get you though.

That was absolutely not a handball
AWB, a yard from the ball and clearly trying to put his hand behind his back.

grealish, 10 yards away unnatural body shape left a gap in the wall his arm filled.

I guess you could argue AWB jumped with his arms out? I really don’t know.

It's a farce considering what we've seen not given so far this weekend. Something has to be done with these referees

Come on United, ready the tweet, stop being pussies. Join your Forest brothers !

How have the club stayed silent all season? It’s an odd amount of decisions going us this season and needs calling out.

4 penalties in a row, all very very questionable. Utd admin needs to tweet about this.

This could be the week that murders VAR for some time. Some horrific calls and massive inconsistency. Go on Forest.

Referees and VAR got a chance to create a story and went for it. Shocking decision, his bringing his arm in and it hits him high.

Even worse after City yesterday, absolutely ridiculous.

Anyone who has seen this would probably agree with something being off.
I would say that all three should have been penalties looking at replays. I don't know how you can sit in VAR room and not give them.

Carragher need to calm down. Liverpool pretty much did the same thing talking about integrity of the game and so on.
