Utd prepared to sell Fellaini this summer

I'm so fed up of seeing that gif of Fellaini against Bayern. Seriously, it just screams of desperation on the "fans" part to hate on the guy some more.

What about Welbeck fecking up that golden chance? That was more vital in that game and it doesn't get brought up nearly as much. If he put that one in and stopped trying to be cheeky on the grand stage, maybe we wouldn't have gone out...

Or if the ref had given Welbeck that perfectly good first goal, nobody would bring that up. Fellaini produced nothing at all that match, or indeed that season.

Because Welbeck made that chance, along with a number of others, including a perfectly good goal which was ruled out. He was probably our biggest attacking threat, just as he was in both the Madrid games the year before. And he's obviously a gifted player, even if he does seriously need to get his head around finishing chances once he's done the hard work.

What's Fellaini's defence?

Why aren't garbage clubs like Stoke, West Brom, etc. at least interested in him? I wish we could just get rid of him and pretend last years misery never happened. Such a horrible signing.

This guy is a WUM.

Seriously? Fellaini is way above the quality of those teams...

Nope. I'm just being reasonable. I could bring up hundreds of embarrassing clips from even some of the so-called best players in the world.

Rooney's corner against Uruguay anyone? Rooney's golden opportunity against Bayern in the 2nd leg? I don't see those gifs getting posted everywhere.

Oh wait, Rooney's a "Legend" and Fellaini is the worst player to ever kick a ball apparently, got it.

Unfortunately for Fellaini there is no good gifs of hime which we could post. I mean for Rooney's every missed "golden opportunity" there is another piece of skill or excellent goal that we can talk about or share. Can we do the same with Fellaini ?
It's always immature to right of a player after one season, I hope he makes it here, but so far he just looks so nervous and out of place.

There was that one time where he chested it down very well. Cant remember which game it was.

I'm not necessarily jumping behind jason93 completely, because I do think he overrates Fellaini significantly, but to claim that Fellaini has no highlights reel moments to counteract one poor dribble is a bit too much. He was one of the best players in the league for Everton in the 2012/3 season and has done more than enough to prove himself as a good footballer, despite having one poor season in a United shirt. I'm not claiming here that he's a great player, or even that I want him at the club (which is a separate issue), but there's a grey area between 'the new Roy Keane' and 'the new Djemba Djemba' and Fellaini clearly belongs in it somewhere.

I agree, he was one the best players for Everton. We are discussing Fellaini because he is a United player now, He has failed so far in a United shirt.. Not in one game but almost in every game.

"Garbage clubs" Really ?

Personally i respect smaller clubs and their fans, throwing about terms like "garbage clubs" is appallingly arrogant

Exactly. He was a good player back in his Everton days.
Arsenal and Chelsea were rumoured to be in for him after his 12/13 season. I could have seen him at Arsenal if Moyes didn't come here. He would be good enough for most Prem sides.

What most United fans can't seem to grasp is that our entire squad was shite last season. Not one player played to their full potential. The only good player was De Gea. And Mata when he came here.

@jason93 thanks for sharing, he still looks average in those gifs, nothing special.
Let's just hope for his own good he will up his game here or will find another club.

Didn't he get a wage rise to join from Everton? I imagine he's on 115 or 120k a week.

If we are paying him those kind of wages then I don't know how we are going to convince players who are actually good to sign for the club on roughly the same.

It was a 3 step programme that defied logic

1 how the club decided to hire moyes
2 how the club decided to pay 27M for fellaini
3 and how the club decided to give him the wages, if its 120K

Now that defies logic

Fair point.

Fellatio is on 120k/week. No mid table club will touch that insane wage.

Not really. Fellaini fits a certain style of play, and only that style (hoofing). He suited Everton because they used to do loads of long balls up to him. They've moved away from that style once Moyes left and now what teams in the premier league are left that suit him as a target man? Because as a midfielder, he's shit. He's just not a midfielder and lacks the basic qualities needed to be good there. So as a target man, he'd fit in at clubs like stoke and west ham.

Just sold him for 12m-15m if there is an offer.
There's no way he could make it here, he only play well as a target man behind the striker, we will never play this kind of football as we are not aiming to become a mid-table club.

Just dangle him in front of Big Sam. I'm sure he'll bite.

Adnan is going to lose all his best friends at the club

Two months ago I wrote almost exactly these same words, which are as true now as they were two months, but a couple posters bored a new orifice in me for daring to criticize Fellaini.

Where are these lovely chaps now?

Where are you ?

Died of boredom, perhaps.

I love the way everyone just keeps saying he should go to West Ham. Yes haha, that one is beyond tedious by now.

I hope he goes but I would imagine he could do better than West Ham.

Yeah I was saying it from before we signed him, no idea why Moyes thought he'd be good in a position he never played him. He was just blatantly nowhere near good enough and not suited to the style.

We are stuck with him for the next couple of years till we find someone desperate enough to take him on loan for the last year of his contract while we pay 75% of his extortionate wage.

I used to get slaughtered in the newbie forums when saying the exact thing about Fellaini.
Lets not get into how the Moyes apologists would carry on

During the last regime, it was a rough time in the forums.
Its really refreshing that most, if not all of us are on the same page regarding Fellaini. It surprised me the vitriol that any criticism of Fellaini was initially met with. It was clearly obvious from the get-go he never was United quality.

Not to be all Kevin about this, but I'd be delighted if we sold him. Unless we become the West Ham of the north, all he'll ever be is a much worse, much less well suited version of what we really need.

Every time I see this thread bumped I open it with hope in my heart.

Screw you all.

Yep...all I want is a thread saying "Fellaini sold...".

I always put Moyes and Fellaini together...as a couple. Almost like iconic symbols of failure. Moyes ended up being shite and is gone...now for Fellaini please. Everytime I see him United's awful season flashes before my eyes....
