Utd prepared to sell Fellaini this summer

When he's positive and on form he is terrific, I think he will be on his best behaviour with LVG around, especially during the 1st season.
However if he can be used as a makeweight to get a truly world class player like a Hummels I'd say go for it.

Rooney at Dortmund? They could barely afford half of his wages.

I know... a boy can dream tho.
But on a serious note, lets say as a makeweight to get a player like Ribery or Robben?
I'd go for that.

It will be interesting to see if he plays on tour, where he plays and how he gets on.
When is he due to join up with the squad?

I think and sincerely hope that van Gaal was exaggerating when he said he would assess the squad ranging from two weeks to a month, but I do think he wants to give players a chance to impress him on tour, although many players future will appear conclusive almost immediately like Anderson and Bebe. I doubt van Gaal rates Fellaini highly from the outset, but even LVG alluded to judging his players on how they perform in his system and philosophy.

With that, as well as Carrick's long-term injury, LVG's hand may be forced and Fellani's stay may extend beyond the tour with the manager continuing to assess him and experiment with him as a holding midfielder. I don't think he's good enough in any capacity here, but his future here might hinge on whether we make immediate midfield additions.

Yep I'd sell Rooney if someone came in with a good offer, wouldn't even think about it.

But I think Woodward and the owners feel differently - Rooney pulls in a hell of a lot of money through marketing. God knows why.

Considering the story of Giggs and that champions league game where he said it would be "best of he was sent off" and wasn't best pleased with his inclusion... You'd hope our assistant manager has already briefed Van Gaal on his severe shortcomings.

The club spent a lot of money to bring this player in. Is there a chance Van Gaal will be put under pressure from those above him to give such an expensive player a good go before giving up on him, at least from an economical perspective?

Van Gaal might think he's shite, but are the club going to be as accepting of making a hefty loss after less than a year, considering he's not really played all that much?

Personally, I can't see him fitting in a system which I predict will move closer to possession football than what we have played in the past few years. If Fellaini is on Van Gaals GTFO list, I hope the club don't block the move.

Why? he's our best player.

I would sell cleverly anderson fletcher fellaini valencia nani young zaha and kagwa well ahead of rooney, if RVP gets injured we are low on CF's. Lets see what VG can do with rooney, because rooney's goals return was not the greatest, but he almost got us 20 goals, so hes still a valuable member of the squad

For a player that played behind the striker, his goal return was brilliant.

In my experience his staunchest supporters were usually opposition fans.... and retards.

Oh no doubt oppo fans absolutely loved him and were gutted when he got sacked, at least they knew he was never going to be successful, unlike a few on here and more so 1 or 2 i know in real life who were backing him to the hilt more than any oppo fan ive met. Delusion of the highest order.

Flog him to the hammers for 10m+ a few mil if they survive relegation. this has Rogers and Carroll written all over it.

I'd be surprised if he's not on 100k or more. I'd say 125k-130k but who knows.

Can anyone tell me what wages this clown is on?

Fellaini is earning a reported 125,000 GBP a week and is the fourth most expensive United player in history.

http://www.therichest.com/sports/so...s-5-most-disappointing-players-this-season/2/

four-year contract he has signed at United, which has seen his wages jump by £50,000-a-week to £125,000-a-week.

Jesus wept. Between him and Young that's 13 million per year. :(

Edit: whoa. We're paying him that much? Madness.

The club should really just advertise a late summer sale once van Gaal has finished evaluating his squad.

2 for the price of 1
or take 3 and get the Fellaini for free!

To scare off potential buyers for other players?

We can't be paying him 120k a week surely, that defies logic.

It was a 3 step programme that defied logic

1 how the club decided to hire moyes
2 how the club decided to pay 27M for fellaini
3 and how the club decided to give him the wages, if its 120K

Now that defies logic

Going to be very difficult to shift him. Which clubs does anyone think will be interested?
