That's because he generally appeals to the unintelligent lefty crowd who approach most issues with a degree of shallowness. By contrast, Stewart is far more intelligent and appeals to a more sophisticated lefty demographic.

I like them both, but I don't see how Stewart is "far more intelligent".

It's delivery for me. Maher comes across as the far-left angry liberal that just spouts off opinions and that his belief is 100% right (similar to Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly on the right, granted I find Maher far more factual than those guys). Stewart comes across far less "pushy" and in a more funny manner.

I like both deliveries though. Seeing as how many raging righties there are it's good to have a lefty voice in a similar format.

Have a look at Stewart's Glenn Beck show from a couple of years back. It was brilliant. Maher can't match that sort of quality.

I've seen it. It was brilliant. But I don't see how that's somehow evidence of Stewart's superior intelligence.

And I disagree, some of Maher's monologues are second to none. The only thing I dislike about Maher's show is his sheep-like audience.

NH is pretty much even...still think Obama will pull that off.

I think CO will come his way too. IA is in his column imo.

FL is the one that will need a very good turnout. VA too.

If Obama has a good debate tonight, he will win the election.

Obama should win tonights debate easily. I just can't see Romney looking comfortable moving around a stage. He awlays looks completely wooden.

Romney will do alright as long as he is allowed to tell his lies without reprimand. The pressure is undoubtedly on Obama to perform.

It's not going to be easy for Obama.

If he is too aggressive the FOX will claim he is an "angry black man".

If he is too tame they will call him insecure.

If he lectures Romney too much they will call him and intellectual elitist.

The bad thing is the rest of the press often catches up on this nonsense.

He just needs to be clear, not um and ah, connect with the questioners and if Romney comes out with a lie, correct it.

Both camps are stepping up the advert campaigns now. Some fairly good adverts from both.
