US Politics

It's fine if that's what you believe, but you can't point to them taking action on a country for doing something some other countries haven't done and go "see, they didn't do that to those other countries". It's unrelated, because Norway, Ireland and Spain simply haven't banned Israelis from entering their countries.

Fair enough

There needs to be more of that. Call that shit out. Do your fecking jobs.

The main media have a lot to answer for and they're just as complicit as right wing news.

The bird flu story has been really interesting to watch... in slow motion. Has been spreading in US poultry for over a year now. Almost from the start, the potential for other animal and human transmission was known. It has continued to spread, and has indeed entered dairy cows, and last week was confirmed in humans and killed a human in Mexico.

Through all this, the USDA and NIH are refusing to share useful genomic data, and dairy farmers are being uncooperative.

Morally I think this is one of the simplest issues possible. Worldwide, factory farming is unimaginable lifelong torture and death for hundreds of billions of animals. Its fetid practices mean it's also a breeding ground for antibiotic resistant bacteria and fast-spreading viruses. In the unlikely chance that a disease caused by a combination of animal agriculture and hubris does shut down the world and kill a substantial number of humans, it will be the closest thing we face to cosmic justice.

A nurse honored for compassion is fired after referring to Gaza ‘genocide’ in speech

https://apnews.com/article/new-york...palestinians-55c694d6a0c64b1612262310dc208124

Labor and delivery nurse Hesen Jabr, who is Palestinian American, was being honored by NYU Langone Health for her compassion in caring for mothers who had lost babies when she drew a link between her work and the suffering of mothers in Gaza.

“It pains me to see the women from my country going through unimaginable losses themselves during the current genocide in Gaza,” Jabr said, according to a video of the May 7 speech that she posted on social media. “This award is deeply personal to me for those reasons.”

Jabr wrote on Instagram that she arrived at work on May 22 for her first shift back after receiving the award when she was summoned to a meeting with the hospital’s president and vice president of nursing “to discuss how I ‘put others at risk’ and ‘ruined the ceremony’ and ‘offended people’ because a small part of my speech was a tribute towards the grieving mothers in my country.”

It is good to see that on both sides of the Atlantic, there is a vigorous campaign against Anti-Semitism in its most devious form.

What is a 'tastemaker?'

And anyone saying Israel is causing Genocide is lying... Unfeckingbelievable. It's disgusting how this section of Israeli's are making out that somehow they are the victims in all this because of people having different opinions and going against the narrative they are trying to control.

Obviously there are clear cases of anti-Semitism but in my opinion, holding a different opinion or calling Israel liars or saying they are committing genocide and war crimes is not it.

Tweet that includes doxxing

I agree that is horrible for them to tweet the person name. But you also shouldn't amplify that doxxing by just reposting the tweet here.

It would be much better to just screenshot it, redact the doxxing yourself and then post the image because even if you're reposting the tweet to call out the original tweeter, you are amplifying the doxxing by posting it here unredacted.

Changed.
I assume whatever damage had to be done, has already been done by the 11,000 people who have liked that post!

The account itself, was set up specifically to dox people.

It's very successful and has got many people fired or otherwise affected. This shows that there still seems to be a widespread consensus against anti-Semitism in US society.
They have been featured (including interviews of the founder) on mainstream media like CNN, NBC, Fox, and AP. While their annual report does not list how many anti-Semites they have removed from jobs, they do have this page:

That's awful and the account itself should be banned but if course it won't under Elon. ☹️

Yep. They have a pretty good hit list on their accomplishments.

These are the questions being asked, a year in.
