Mo Brooks - Fire McConnell

Alabama's Mo Brooks, under threat of having Donald Trump pull his endorsement in the state's Republican senatorial primary, just dropped a new 90-second ad calling for Mitch McConnell to be ousted as Senate GOP leader

The lengths that they will go to, to stay in Trumps good books

If this is not a reason for term limits I have no idea what is. I would love to see him in a debate but there is no way his people will let him. He can barely speak coherently now!

I mean he has a point, he's just got his views entirely backwards. If you're going to let states ban abortion, and the only thing that stands in the way of that is the Supreme Court, then you might as well let them ban interracial marriage too. Having it all down to the Supreme Court is such a terrible idea, and it opens the path up to this. That's why all other countries that have abortion (I'm assuming!), have legislated protections for it. Of course, the US political system and environment are so fecked up that even though abortion rights are extremely popular, they'll never be federally legislated for at the current rate.

The idea of supreme court as the supreme decision maker isnt absurd by itself. Constitution, jurisprudence, etc at one point someone high up is making the decision.

What's fecked up is the majority of citizens having such a wrong view on things. But to be fair this is by design. The american citizen has been conditioned for years to be dumbed down. The pandora box has been opened years ago. Now even politicians has to play humpty dimpty to reach their constituent level.

Not sure if anyone else has been following KBJ's confirmation hearing but the GOP has been horrific, especially Graham/Cruz/Hawley/Blackburn. Special shoutout to Tillis who literally said "I'm not a lawyer but I do watch Law and Order". Anyways, I'm not going to to give those fecks any time but this was a great moment from Corey Booker. It may seem over the top but when you put it in the context of the racist filth she has dealt with the last few days his cheerleading was a fantastic moment.

It was quite a delivery by Booker. The idiocy of the Republican Party has been on full display these last few days.

Presumably Manchin and Sinema will have concerns and block her appointment?

I don't think so. They will vote to confirm and likely 1 or 2 R's as well.
If there’s a single R yea then I think it would make their nays redundant anyway?

How’s Thomas getting on in hospital? Badly I hope.

My guess is one of Murkowski/Collins/Romney is a yes.

No word on Thomas that I can find.

How old is Biden - currently sitting in a position significantly more important than a mere Senator?

Not exactly a hero, coming out with it only because Trump withdrew his endorsement. There's also the part where he says he's the the most America First candidate out there, and the part where he says he was fighting against voter fraud and "election theft", and wants to enact laws to "give us honest and accurate elections".

This guy is cryptofascist to the core.

I don't know why people are getting their panties in a bunch: Judge Jackson will be approved. The Democrats have the votes, and that's the end of it.

This is all theater, and as far as confirmations go this doesn't even come close to the Kavanaugh hearings.

Clearly you studied rhetoric among the great Greek philosophers.
