US Open

Nole I heard was very good against Fish. Encouraging.

He's not yet played against Fish.

Fish I think is next up for him.

Oh and Kim is absolute hammering Ivanovic

She's in a different class altogether

 fecked up there.

I meant Blake.. Fish is in his half of the draw, that's where I got the correlation.

Good. Bye bye Ana.

Kim beats Ana 6-2 6-1

Ana din't hold serve since 1-1 in the first set!

7 Spaniards playing today in the men's draw and 6 of them could go through to the last 16!

Yess. Nole's been really good since his matches have been in the night session. He's a real play under the lights.

Him vs Fish should be really really good.

If he can beat Fish then he's got Gasquet or Monfils in all probability and that he should win.

Nalbandian vs Verdasco is on now. Verdasco leads 6-2 2-2.

The first took 50 mins despite being 6-2

Fair play with your prediction. I thought Ana had turned a corner and would have give her a good game.

Ah well, back to supporting Kim now

Well Ana has turned a corner but tbf to her it's not exactly easy to play against Kim, especially here in New York. It's her title to lose really , though she's got a real hard path to the finals. Dementieva or Stosur in the next round followed by Schiavone or Kuznetsova in the semis and then possibly Wozniacki.

Great match between Venus and Peer, into a set tiebreaker.

Edit: Williams takes the first set, but Peer looks to be a good player, could be a 3 set match...

So lots of matches going on now, Rafa Simon is on, Murray Wawrinka will start in a while, Lopez Stochovsky as well.

Nadal with an early break, leads 2-1.

He's a different player on these courts. Simple forehands down the line which he would hit with his eyes closed on other courts he puts wide here. 5 Unforced errors in just 3 games says a lot. Still early in the game so no worry :D

Stupid bottling Wawrinka. Serving for set and bottles it

Nadal up 6-4 2-2

Nadal 6-4 6-4 up. Not faced one break point on his serve yet. Clinical.

Meanwhile bottlejob Stan loses the tie break to Murray 7-3.

Nadal 4-1 up in the 3rd now. Wow Wawrinka breaks back. Unexpected to say the least.

Nadal wins 6-4 6-4 6-2. Impressive stuff from him today. Faced just ONE break point, that too in the final game of the match.
He's won 46 service games in a row now. Looking good on serve. I think Nadal should get more of these day games, his superior fitness shows over the other players

Lopez up next and then the winner of Verdasco and Ferrer.

Oh and Murray just decides it's his turn to start bottling it. Serving for the 2nd set and gets broken

Match of two sets of bottling this

Wawrinka serves for the first at 5-3 and then loses the tie break. Murray serves for the 2nd at 5-3 and then loses the set in the tie break.

This is more like a ladies match!

Murray needs to bang down the door of whoever is in charge of putting him on the day session all the time, whether it's pressure from UK broadcasters or whatever, he should really start kicking up a fuss about it now

Holy crap. Stopped watching after the second set to watch an episode of Hung and I turned it on and he's 4-1 down

He'll still pull through. He only loses in 4th rounds and finals of slams, not the third round.

He's a top player and he'll step it up in the next set, if not this. Hope he doesn't though.

 That guy coming back from getting some eats and just wandering around the stadium, not one to stereotype but typical american.

Both men looking the worse for wear now and Wawrinka has the trainer out.

Oh please don't get injured Wawrinka

This match is anything but a walk in the Meadows for Murray.

What's wrong with Murray? He doesn't seem to be pushing off while he's serving, and he's not checking back on himself when Wawrinka puts the ball in behind him. Where is he injured?

Wawrinka holds out to win the set.

Murray now has the trainer on. Not sure if there is anything actually wrong with him or whether he's just trying to loosen up as that seems to be his main issue.

They both look really tired/injured. Won't be shocked to see a retirement.

Oh where is Enigma with his "injury time out is cheating" bit :p

Murray's got an issue in his thigh. You could tell, as if the foot faults weren't a good enough indicator. The only thing he can do from he is start trying to play the lines and hope Wawrinka starts missing.

Uh oh. Wawrinka breaks early in the 4th. This is his match to lose now

Wawrinka is a tricky opponent, so may be Gasquet against Djokovic and Verdasco against Nadal

Wawrinka will be kicking himself, if he's got anything left to kick with,if he ends up losing this. And there he hands the break back

Hmm another break for Wawrinka and he's 4-2 up. He needs a maximum of 2 good service hols now to take this match. Can't see him holding 2 more times though

Murray 4-2 and 0-30 down. He's on the brink...

EDIT: Make that 0-40 and up to 30-40 now. Deuce now. Wawrinka might have just bottled a golden chance.

5-3 and one good game away from the win now. Yet can't believe he missed those break points to go 5-2 up.

Match point for Wawrinka on the Murray serve...not taken. Deuce. 2 chances for Murray to take the game but Stan pulls back to deuce. Match point number 2 now for Stan...and he takes it! :D
