US Open 2009 Flushing Meadows

Nadal actually looked in serious pain (in an utterly expressionless way) when the trainer was poking his belly. (And I thought that before the commentators mentioned it.)

Hopefully for Nadal he can get out of this match as quickly as possible so he can rest his abs for Del Potro

The first rain delay of the tournament? I had forgotten it's played in open air.

How?

It happened last year towards the end too.

By 2011, it will be the only Grand Slam without a roof over it, although it is the largest stadium by quite some distance.

How have have you forgotten it is played in open air, it's been windy as feck all day.

Well, I didn't mean it 100% literally. In fact I was sure I put an "almost" in there somewhere.

So, today we have Clijsters - Serena, then Nadal - Gonzalez, then Wick - Wock. Brilliant. How is the weather?

"The current weather forecast for the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center calls for rain Friday with possible breaks in the afternoon."

Hm.

It's too big to put on

They may as well just move the final to MSG that would be off the hook.

They keep pushing things back. The lastest word is all three matches simultaneously in half an hour, but they've said that before.

They still haven't changed the current start time (online), which is in just a few minutes. Should I get my hopes up? Have they said anything on tv?

The women have been sent home, but they're still hoping to squeeze in Nadal v Gonzalez between two showers.

Or have they called the whole day off? I'm getting mixed messages.

I'm sure they will try to get in the Nadal match at any point that they can, clearly that semi wont be played til Sunday so if they have a dry patch anywhere before 9 or 10 pm I could see them going for it.

I'm not wathcing, but it looks like Nadal wants to get things over with. Won the tiebreak 7-2 (3-2 when they resumed), and now he's 30-0 up in Gonzalez' serve game.

I prefer Rog but on form I think Nadal is probably the best player of all time
