US Open 2009 Flushing Meadows

Classless by Williams, classless she can feck off, totally taints Clijsters win

Im confused did they just say she threatened to kill the offical?

That's why Serena was suggesting.

"I didn't say I would kill you? Are you serious?"

Quite comical, someone just shouted during Kim's interview "You would've won anyway".

Great story for Clijsters [Hollywood will pick it up and run with it one day no doubt], but it doesn't leave a lot of merit for much of the rest of the womens game at the minute.

So i heard last week, Henin could be considering a comeback.

What has happened here?
It was 5-4 to Clijsters in the second set, Williams was serving at 15-30 down. She was called on a foot fault (maybe dubiously, I have absolutely no idea) which meant 15-40 and two match points, she got angry and shouted at the woman who called it, and was subsequently given a penalty point which meant game set match Clijsters.

Here's apparently what was said.

"If I could, I would take this ... ball and shove it down your ... throat and kill you,"

I love Cljisters, she better go on and win it now, great player. And doesnt grunt or make a big scene like that man she was facing last night.

I do feel a bit sorry for Clijsters, was a massive win for her - could well have been one of the best moments in her tennis career and she couldn't even feel that elation at the end that would usually accompany such a fantastic result.

The official is comical, running to the umpire. Mind you I know plenty of blokes that would shit their pants if Serena threatened to kill them.

Unbelievable. If true, this is going to plague her for years to come.

It's true. They showed it on SportsCenter last night and had the audio turned up. You can clearly hear everything she says, as well as read her lips. Thank god for HD!

Del Potro up a set, and 2-1 on serve in the second.

I wonder would Federer prefer to play an unfit Nadal, or an on-fire Del Potro should he make it to the final? Oddly enough at this moment, I'd say the former.

Men's tennis is just flat out loaded with top class players

I'm surprised that the commentators seem to be so surprised at how this game has gone. Del Potro is an excellent player and is only 20 so is getting better all the time. One of the commentators even suggested that del potro would be an unknown to many. Seriously? He's been playing excellent tennis for a while now.
