Both Januzaj and Wilson won't make the grade at United.

Tend to agree with this, and I think their best chance of progression would be a season long loan.

Pereira however, will. I'm really impressed and can't help but feel he's been given assurances of first team games this season.

I agree regarding Pereira. Januzaj certainly needs a loan.

The goal keeper plays more football than the striker in this team.

Rooney won't get 20 goals because we won't create enough chances to do it.

We will struggle again to play attractive football this season and will find it difficult to break teams down.

Agreed. Add to the fact that Di Maria (our only source of 'create something from something') will most likely be leaving and that makes you worry more.

I see a few people turning towards this view and I will join in: James Wilson won't make it as a starting striker at United, and will be lucky to stay and be a 3rd choice in the next few years.

Which is fine right? Every team needs a third choice striker. If he is willing to play that role then what's the harm?

schweinsteiger presence will be more hindrance then a help, as i think his form will be patchy as he adjusts to a more physical league a new team while having to deal with the slowing down of his body.

No harm. But people have been talking him up as a star, I am just saying I don't think he will be that.

If we sign Ramos he's gonna be horrible in the Premier League. I'd rather take a gamble and spend that money on Stones.

Pedro will be a much better signing than Di Maria and a much better fit for Van Gaal's ''philosophy''. He'll improve us as a team and will contribute to our success. I think this opinion is a bit unpopular, but I'd be satisfied with Di Maria leaving and Pedro coming in, as I think we'll be a better team with Pedro and he'll fit in like a glove with his smart movement and experience from playing for arguably the greates possesion-based team ever.

We don't have enough creativity in the team and will continue to struggle to break teams down.

We have a lot of good goalscorers in the team (Rooney, Mata, Memphis, (possibly) Pedro soon), but very little to service those players.

Well...Statistically speaking we shouldn't. We are the only team to have 3 of our current players in the top 20 PL all time assists. Rooney and Young even make the top 3.

Stats eh..

Yes , the midfield is very strong and will surely be very compact but I miss some magic. A top creative attacking midfielder and a top organizer/assistant. Mata could be that attacking midfielder but he miss something, besides I don´t understand his position on the right

We just don't have enough goals in our attack to challenge for trophies. Depay is overrated. Schneiderlin is average, Schweini past it. Our defence is shit, and we're gonna have another another year of competing for fourth with Liverpool.

Its amazing we have let go RVP, Nani, Falcao and probably Di Maria. All these players can create something from nothing yet we kept Rooney.
Falcao was a bust but I think with a more skillful creative midfield I think he would have come good.
We gave up on a front four of Nani-RVP-Falcao-DiMaria. Maybe they are all past it but my God that is a dream attacking force.

No offence but I've fixed that for you so it makes more sense.

It will be another season of Vanshiteball. Just the word used as an excuse this time will be "process" instead of "philosophy".
The system is brutal on the strikers, with chance creation a real issue. Can't think of anyone besides Messi who can score more than 30 goals in a season playing the way we do. Rooney, Depay, Pedro or whoever, will fail to score many goals.
We will win no trophies and only fight for 4th place with Liverpool again. Though this time Liverpool will provide a much sterner test.
Anyone with flair will be swiftly shown the door; only regimented robots will propel under Van Gaal.
Herrera will be his next victim.
Hopefully, we won't sign Romero. If we do, people will go WTF each time he plays for us.

This thread is perfect for you. It's an opportunity to sprout your anti van Gaal opinions in more outlandish fashion than before. United's football will be better this coming season.

My god...

It will be a fun season reading your posts if you're already this negative.

On paper its a dream attacking force. In reality it's not anymore. Not even close.

To be fair that was 5-6 years ago now. Hasn't even got close to replicating that kind of form in front of goal since.

He said Rooney's never been a prolific striker though. That's what I said it.

Rooney is not as clinical now, but with a full season up top, he should still get us a decent amount of goals, I think. Whether that'd be enough to clinch us a major trophy in the process, remains to be seen, but for some reason I'm very optimistic for the season ahead.

Never, apart from one season. ;)

We have no flair or creativity in our squad

(apart from ADM, who would seem to be on his way out)
