Unpopular Opinions Thread

Januzaj will leave within a season or two... destined to be the next Bojan

I'm getting a little worried that ADM will end up like Veron, clearly a very good player, but just not very good for us.

If we sell de Gea all world will see United as laughing stock.

Splashing tons of money everywhere for mediocre players like Rojo or Falcao and decent like Herrera or Blind.
Couldn't keep the only player they have who is "truly worth all the money".

It will be like City selling Aguero and keeping Adebayor.

RVP, and even more so Falcao due to his knee, are both past their best. We should be playing Rooney up front consistently and bring in a new young striker this upcoming summer.

Having Rooney, Wilson, and a new other striker is the best way to go, in my opinion.

I'd hope this isn't an 'unpopular' opinion.

LvG needs to get rid of his huge ego which is not working, and start thinking about the team. Otherwise he needs to go before he damages the team any further. I know his illustrious history, but that is not helping right now. If Moyes got heat for his management, then LvG should not get off so lightly.

Probably put this somewhere in this thread already, but here goes........

Jones and Smalling are good enough for United. They just need to have an injury free season, where they can get regular games at centre back.

LVG had littleto no choice in the Club buying Shaw, Herrera and the loan deal of Falcao.

LVG is an awful manager and we won't get anywhere with him

Our current 'youth' 1st team team players arent United quality. Januzaj included.

It isn't a case of changing management we need an entire squad rebuild IMO Rvp, Falcao, Rafa, Evans, Valencia, fletcher, Nani, Anderson, and mata, Fellini, Jones all should be sold

Coutinho has far more ability than Mata, apart from his goalscoring and shots, he is better than Mata in every other aspect imo. He's more creative, faster, better dribbling, can beat defenders, is explosive, has balance and more flair.
Yeah I think he's better by some distance. He will be very good once he improves decision making.

Matic and Schneiderlin are upper average centre midfielders, who's reputations are built on hard work not quality.

Valdes is a better shot stopper than De Gea.

Aguero is an average finisher but truly world class at getting into those positions.

Agree about the defensive mid

Disagree massively about valdes

Agree about aguero

Agree with the first and last point, but think you're pretty far off the mark with Valdes.

Can't agree with any of that except maybe the Schneiderlin part. Matic is brilliant IMO and Agueros finishing is better than average. The Valdes part is ridiculous.

Mata ripped the league up for two seasons straight, and is still getting goals and assists. Coutinho had a good half a year, disappeared and then has hit a bit of form after a slow start this year.

Coutinho is more explosive, that's it.

More talented? Maybe. Mata is the better player by some distance though.

If you are basing it only on what they have done since Mata moved to United, then I agree. Coutinho is more like a Silva or Iniesta (I'm not comparing their abilities before one of you bring it up).

I wouldn't say unpopular opinion, but I often want to raise the question.. Why are Schmeichel and Law legends? My Liverpool supporting mates always say it to me, all I can say is because they achieved so much at United, but I do wonder myself sometimes. I consider them to be legends because I've grown up with then having that status but I wonder how other United fans justify it.

352 is a good formation for our team and will eventually work when the players get used to it.

I'll make a counter claim that Coutinho will be Diego to Oscar's Kaka.

Why wouldn't they be legends? Because they had short stints at City?

Well why would they do it? After what they did at United, why join City? I don't get it. Just avoid a club or two, that's all they had to do. It amazes me why anyone who has great success at a certain club would join their rivals. Of all the clubs they could go on to join.

Not really controversial. I would imagine most people consider Madrid the biggest.

Say that to any of the United fans in my family.

But, if I have to meet some kind of standard of unpopularity here, how about I say that we're second and City is first cos they won the PL last year.

For Law 46 goals in a single season, 11 years at Old Trafford, Ballon d'Or winner, walking off when he scored for City in 73, Ambassador of the club, pretty easy to see why.
For Schmeichel, not sure about legend, but instrumental in us winning the Treble, probably saved us 10-12 points every season.

I'd say you and your family are dumb and we're probably 2-3rd behind the Spaniards, but nobody over the age of 1 should actually care.

To be fair, United are comfortably bigger in English speaking countries, and Madrid in hispanic and spanish speaking countries.

I wasn't referring to City, but Madrid.

I think what happened was I basically said Madrid, same as you, Barney said most people think like that and I jokingly said City is bigger. Then I think he didn't catch the sarcasm and tried to make some kind of point.

(Yes, I am explaining this in the hope he'll see it and realise what actually happened)
