United under LvG: verdict so far!

I'm pretty concerned with a lot of what has gone on and chief among those concerns is the idea that LVG might not 'get' English football but he is a smart, adaptable coach and I reckon he'll be much better next season.

He hasn't showed many signs of intelligence nor adaptability so far :(

Moyes had the excuse of being inexperienced at managing a top top club (sorry Everyon but it's true), what excuse has LVG got?

If we miss out on a CL spot then it will most certainly be because of this idiots stupid selections and negative fecking tactics.

Van Gaal is fecking useless.

We complain about the same shit each week and yet nothing changes.

The "philosophy" is a bag of toss.

That game against Fulham where we rained in crosses was the point I realised Moyes wasn't up to the job, though it wasn't until the Everton game when I got the feeling he was actually a dead man walking.

That "Fulham feeling" came today for LvG.

Agree about the feeling. However, my first genuinely serious doubts about Moyes came when he subbed Rooney for Smalling against Southampton to defend a 1-0 lead.

And we are on course to do that, so what is your problem?
We are on the course to make it into top 3? Have a look at the table, at the way we play, the squad at LvG's disposal and answer a couple of questios honestly:
1. Where in the table would Arsenal/Tottenham/Southampton be if they had a keeper like DDG?
2. Would Pocchetino or Koeman do better or worse compared to Louis with our squad at their disposal?

What's his record like for transfers in the last few seasons? Did he discover anyone of note?

I'm tempted to say some of this is Woody's fault, but not sure if LVG can be trusted to bring in what we need.

I think he might have lost me with that Smalling substitution at the end there.

If we'd started the game with the same intensity as after we conceded then we would have won today.

LVG is totally to blame for yet another shit result.

He's been Dutch manager for the last few seasons so transfers weren't applicable.

I think he has had long enough now to show what he is capable of.

I am personally not convinced he is the best man for the job.

We are playing some horrendous football at the moment.

I don't understand why he can't get up even once to issue instructions. It was obvious that what we were doing wasn't helping. Why not change something, if not the players, just some tactics. Giggs looks so useless next to him too. Doesn't seem to be doing anything.

I still don't have the "moyes" feeling like other people here. But for the life of me I can't understand what he's trying to do. I want to grab him by the head and shake it hard and just shout at him.

I was tearing my hair out at him delaying the substitution for so long. It's weird, we went from actually looking like a promising team a few weeks into the season, something that could be built upon to set us up nicely for the second half of the season but went backwards when 3-5-2 reared it's ugly head and the Rooney midfield experiment started happening.

It seems like he's shuffling from one system to the next without any consideration of what is actually happening on the pitch. Like in a few weeks we'll change again where we'll solve some problems but create brand new ones, ones that are easily avoidable.

The individual quality of our players seems to be the only thing dragging us forward at the minute.

Talks about balance, but then baffles me with his team sheet and formation

I remember why I used to dislike him. He can be crazy in his stubborness.

I dare to suggest that Netherlands had success mainly because of Robben who made the 352 system work. Now LvG is trying to find a new Robben in AdM but the latter is nothing like Robben.

I felt same funnily enough, Robben to me was the best player at the world cup, was an absolute monster, apart from the diving, he never stopped running and trying to beat his man, really is underrated , its crazy how hes 30 yrs old, and is still so fast

Its actually amazing how any manager can have us playing so badly when you look at the players he has to use.

I've said it since the injuries started piling up very early on and his subs were beyond baffling. He's no better than Moyes, in fact he's worse because he actually spent on world class talent and the results are still as bad.

When will the press become much more pointed with him? This is not good enough and much of it is due to his team selections, confusion regarding formations and game management. Spurs had a lucky escape!!

Players aren't showing any ingenuity whatsoever.

His methods are working.

That's the scary part.

His interview right now, I knew he'd mention them playing long ball. He constantly accuses other teams of it while completely ignoring thats what we do constantly

His "balance" remarks were surely made to try and justify his shit on a stick 352 tactics.

its pitiful when 99% of the United fan base is looking at his first 11, then looking at the subs bench and scratching there heads as to what the feck he's thinking of.

Clueless beyond redemption, in a game like this he chooses to play with no midfield? And what was that Smalling sub all about? He needs to go....

Exactly. I dont see our players sulking, I can see them not being able to adapt to the philosophy. We are getting goals whenever we start actually playing direct fast and thus more risky football, instead of possession-based ultra cautious one.
