United States, Mexico and Canada to host 2026 World Cup

Not a feckin clue where most of those named stadiums are. If ever there was a case against corporate sponsorship…

FIFA and international football has become a joke, anyway. 48 teams, 3 nations sharing ffs

Bring back Blatter… on 2nd thoughts, best not, as he started this lot

Will this all be played at silly o’clock for Europe?
I believe the KO times (UK and Ire Time) will be something along the lines of 5pm, 8pm, 11pm and 2am in the first couple of rounds of fixtures. 2am ones will drop off after that AFAIK. With the expanded format there'll be 4 games a day on some days in the first couple of rounds of fixtures

Ecuador vs Saudi Arabia at 2 in the morning. I'm not going to pretend like I won't watch it.

If there are games played in either Charlotte or Atlanta, I'll be up for buying tickets. Might be my last chance to attend the tournament. Been a long time since 1982.
Here's the venues, so you are in luck!

Atlanta: Mercedes Benz Stadium is one of the venues

I was 12 the last time we had the World Cup here, so this is all pretty exciting. Hopefully I'll be able to attend a few matches.

The stadium choice for the final is definitely a bit odd, but then again, in the dead of summer anyone hoping to attend it will be happy that it's in NYC and not Texas or Georgia where you'd pretty much be melting.

Guessing the 2ams will be mainly the Mexico matches. 5 or 8pm times to suit European audiences in Miami will be brutal, the Copa America this summer was a guide to that.

In some ways Texas would be better as the heat is more of a dry heat, it's the humidity that's the real killer, NYC and Atlanta are real humid in the summer, Miami as well

Oh god I just realised. The Orange **** is likely to end up presenting the trophy to the winners. No way will his ego allow anyone else do it. Al Gore as VP did it last time it was in the US
I'm absolutely certain that when someone tells him about the WC, he's going to ask why they're sharing the WC with Canada and Mexico and try to make it a US only affair.

More likely games in the West region... 2am in the UK (3am CET) would is 6pm in the West Coast

Atlanta, Dallas (Arlington actually), and Houston are all indoor retractable roof venues. The weather wouldn't affect the players and fans inside unless the roof was open.

Right, but you still have to get to the stadium.

Also, nobody wants to see a World Cup final played under a roof.

Hoping to go over for this and go to a game in Dallas, Miami and Mexico City. Not bothered who is playing, but will probably try for the knockout games as the groups in a 48 team world cup are going to be pretty pointless.

Seeing as he publicly lobbied for the joint bid during his first term, I very much doubt this will happen.

Lucky.
I’m 57 years old and in the UK. Never had a World Cup here in my lifetime.

That was then and he didn't think it thru, how's he gonna handle all the supporters from the "shithole' countries that have/will qualify

I'll be boycotting all games being played in the US. For obvious reasons and I hope everyone who had a strong stance against Qatar have the same against US.
