United States, Mexico and Canada to host 2026 World Cup

Just back from London and this is decidedly not true (comparatively speaking), unless the statement was not comparative.
Considering the US is #9 on the cost of living scale, behind countries such as Switzerland, Singapore, Iceland, Norway, etc. that are notoriously ridiculously expensive, then yeah it's "decidedly true". But it was just a tongue in cheek response. It is also a stupid country so that is also true. My post was factually correct.

It is a stupid country, that we can agree on.

Everything is expensive in your stupid country.

Also, by Europeans, I think you mean the English (who are barely European anyway), the Germans and the French who live in the north of the country :smirk:
It isn't my country and it's not all expensive, but Seattle is very expensive but most of the major cities are

A bit harsh. I think the design was smart but it's been ruined a largely stupid and gullible electorate.

Well, considering that in the original design the electorate was only white land owning men it would appear that things are going back to how it was designed.

I'd imagine the demand for tickets is going to be through the roof, just from Americans themselves and will be priced accordingly ($200+) for CAT C.

I did read that it's going to be a major problems for countries who can't access the country for an ETSA. Countries like Colombia have an average wait of 700+ days at the embassy for a visa whilst obviously the World Cup is before that. Will be a shame if some of the Latin American countries can't travel in numbers due to this, as they are normally very loud and add to the tournament.

so anyways how we think poch is gonna be with USMNT on this for the runup ha. Get this damn thread back on topic go bitch somewhere else people.

You just know that the trophy presentation is going to be sponsored by SPRITE: OBEY YOUR THIRST and you'll be able to get up close with the winnings team as the SPRITE: OBEY YOUR THIRST TROPHYCAM, mercilessly welded to the top of the trophy, shows a 360 degree live shot of it being hoisted up in front of the SPRITE: OBEY YOUR THIRST World Cup Sponsored by Oracle crowd in the thundercnut Dome.

That and the ice hockey style penalty shootout, or basketball inspired beating your wife challenge.

How fair were voting rights in Europe at that time? What did the European electorate look like?

What "would appear"? It certainly doesn't appear in any shape or form that "things are going back" to whatever it was you are thinking of.

Plenty to criticize Trump on outside of the inventions of your imagination. You’re welcome to stay home if you’re that concerned.
I'm Canadian so I don't have to worry about staying home. I'm also transgender so I'll never step foot inside the US ever again and if they ever try to invade my country I will light those mother feckers up like you wouldn't believe.

No where in this thread have I criticized drumpf other than suggesting he's dumber than a sack of hammers which at this point I think is within the realm of what most people would consider a fact.

1990 is the 1st World cup I remember, so 1994 I can remember all of it. Was a classic. I've been all over Europe watching United, but haven't been to America since 2007, so wanting to get back and personally think it will be a great World Cup and a perfect excuse to go.

As a Manchester native, the thought of disgusting hot and humid weather actually excites us with what we have to put up with here weather wise.

I'm wanting to do Dallas and Miami as I've never been. Seattle was on the list due to the stadium, have always loved the design

I mean, if you're actually craving the heat, then you'll enjoy Miami, especially if you allow for some R&R time at a resort.

The Fontainebleau in Miami Beach has a great pool. Fort Lauderdale is an hour north and The Diplomat is a fantastic family-friendly resort.

What does "stupid country" even mean? Less or more stupid and embarrassing than the UK? Germany?

How fair were voting rights in Europe at that time? What did the European electorate look like?

What "would appear"? It certainly doesn't appear in any shape or form that "things are going back" to whatever it was you are thinking of.
Moved discussion to US Politics thread.

Same as 2022, boycott the sponsors and don't pay to watch any of it. If enough people do that it'll stop...

Ticket prices for this will be ridiculous. Already saw a hold for tickets were like $1000 per.

On the secondary market for big matchups yes, but otherwise, I don't think they'll actually be that high. There will be 104 matches, most of which will involve pretty shit teams, and FIFA will want the stadia (all of which are very large) to be full.

Yeah, the Brits will feel right at home in Seattle, at least as far as the weather goes.

I'm debating between Kansas City, Dallas, and Atlanta. I live in a smallish city and our airport only flies direct to like 10 cities, two of which are Dallas and Atlanta. Never been to Dallas. Atlanta is cool but the traffic is some of the worst in the country.

Kansas City will probably be the least chaotic of any of our host cities, but for me it means driving to O'Hare first. Of course, it'd be cool to go to a Royals game while I'm there.
Dallas is bad for traffic as well but KC is driveable I would have thought from Indiana, Atlanta can be bad but if you pick the right time of day I find it OK

As a Manchester native trust me, you'll have a hard time with the humidity, I've lived with it for more than a decade and I still can't handle it, Dallas however, in my experience, is more dry heat than humid

Our president is awful but Trump is really a bad joke. I wish they could give the World cup to another country.

The Americans will snap these up at relatively high prices as Sports events in the US are always expensive and generally well attended. It is obviously not going to be $1000 a ticket but it will be the most expensive WC by some distance.

It sounds fecking awful. Half time will probably last about 40 minutes.

It will ruin the final. All these new ideas are terrible. Quatar was terrible, this will be terrible and Saudi Arabia will be terrible.

It is clear that Fifa get inspired by American sports spectacles, while ignoring that the WC final is a bigger event than all of them. It doesn't require a circus. It requires nothing additional to make it more attractive to sponsors. Infantino is worse than Blatter.

Whoops, just realized @Fugeeface can’t post there.

Oh well.

I'm planning to go but a little worried about the ticket prices. I'm intending to go to a game in Philadelphia (closest place to where my sister lives). Exploring another city would be cool, but not sure it's worth the added cost - just tick off the World Cup game bucket list for any game.
