United States, Mexico and Canada to host 2026 World Cup

Why do say it was garbage?

I was pretty young when it was staged. But I'd always thought it was generally considered one of the most enjoyable/best staged World Cups.

Romario, Bebeto, Baggio, Stoichkov, Klinsmann, the Oleg Salenko 5 goal game. Clearly evidence of a garbage WC.

Yeah, I'm very interested in his reasoning for describing it as a garbage World Cup.

I think it's because you go straight to advocating a boycott, somehow conflating the US with Canada and Mexico. Even given your anti-US views, why would you boycott a World Cup in the latter two countries?

Nah, I'm boycotting the other two as well.

Aztecs invaded small natives tribes to become bigger, and they also sacrificed children.

And Canada was founded on native genocide.

We should hold the WC in Samoan Islands or Fiji

No whataboutery please. Discuss the criticisms of the US as a WC host. What other countries have done in the past is not relevant. Thanks.
 I love how you're using that garbage hypocrisy back at them. Can't stand it when they pretend to stand for important values. Very selective indeed.

Could have historical roots though, like overriding the indigenous peoples' Remembrance day by celebrating Thanksgiving.

Have experience in these things. The logo looks like the result of a lot of stakeholders bickering and dithering.

How early do tickets usually come out for this stuff? I'm determined to get to Mexico for this.

For us living in the Gulf, the timings would be horrible and will miss seeing the games on weekdays.

Unfortunate but it is the World Cup so it will be hosted in places that makes it inconvenient for some parts of the world to view/attend. We've just had a winter World Cup so it could be hosted in the middle eastern desert.

Which was heaven for us as viewers. But I get your point

teams will get much more fatigue ? having to fly around to play.
Assume they will have each group playing at just two venues relatively close to each other, similar to the last Euros, to minimise travel for teams?

Surely they won't have teams playing their first group match in Mexico, travelling to Canada for the second match and then somewhere in the US for the final game. Good planning can surely minimise the logistical nightmare for fans following their country and the respective teams themselves.

I have the possibilty of having 8 matches including the final 3 miles from my house in beautiful scenic New Jersey. Actually the site is only 5 miles from NYC also

i highly doubt teams are flying coach around north america. They will be fine. Be a couple hours of flying prob for the teams in conditions that are more relaxing than some of us have at home.

Is that the most boring World Cup logo ever to be hosted by a nation that calls it soccer

Absolute trash logo, but the soccer insult is stupid, given that the term started in the UK and is still used in many commonwealth countries.

And...just deleted my huge post blasting everyone above for being fooled by what was clearly a fake logo...only to check at the last minute and sure enough that monstrosity is real. F me...................

Surely they could have done a white silhouette of the world cup for that logo. It looks so lazy, I bet they don't have even the rights to the image of the world cup they copied and pasted.

It all feels so lazy with an real photo, the 26 could work if they put more effort into the trophy part

Something like this has a bit of creativity to it

that would be hilarious to see.

“Soccer” is fine but WTF is “The Soccer”?
That Ad was obviously designed by a marketing company that has no clue about the sport. I know it’s trivial but that really is pathetic “ The Soccer”

It's a social media post made by some random UAE-based media company, not an official ad

But how does The Soccer escape the eyes of whoever is running the show? Pathetic.

It wasn't put together by the people running the tournament though. It's just a social media post from some random UAE-based page.
