United in this Summer transfer window

Decent? That would be absolutely fantastic.

Well I'm not overly convinced by Fellaini and three players at once, who would expect to be first team regulars, are hard to bed in straight away. It may see us losing the league but potentially having a decent cup run. Losing Rooney would be a big blow that none of those players really replace adequately on their own, in my opinion. However the depth in squad would be fantastic.

At the rate this transfer window is going, I don't think we have to worry about bedding in too many first team players in at once. It would be a happy problem, if that were to happen.

I think the three players I mentioned are very realistic if the Ozil rumours are true and Mourinho wants to bring Rooney in badly enough.

Realistically... we aren't signing anyone. Lets all be honest with ourselves... it just ain't happening.
Would be excited by that, it exudes calmness, leadership, good judgement and a nouse for advanced long term planning from Moyes and his team. We tried and failed in getting the big hitters we wanted, let's not panic buy and wait for next year to try again.

To me this will prove we are in firm hands.

Well, it looks like Fellaini is as good as it's going to get in this transfer window, underwhelming as it might be.

Rooney is difficult to replace because he's one of very few players who can play both as a 9 and a 10. Loads of players are better than him as a 10 (like Ozil and Mata) and a few good players are better than him as a 9. But who else can play both positions to required standard? The worst part for me though about losing him is strengthening Chelsea.

What a joke this would be if true.

Joke shmoke. United know something.

Believe. I know a tiny bit of what's been going on behind the scenes, and there is a reason why United still attempting to buy him. The reason is not that they just want to waste time until the transfer window closes. That does not mean he's sure, but it means that the United doing now is worth trying.

And this on Aug 8th, after Cecs' "I'm staying" thing:
I wrote Wednesday morning in "my thoughts" I had a hope, because I know some of the background. Without going into the details of it, since I have promised not to tell, so I can at least establish that Fabregas now says what he says is exactly as expected. Although he was interested in a United transfer he would not make himself unpopular with the Barcelona fans and as soon as the transition was impossible he would always officially claiming that he never had other plans than to stay there forever.

And why would he know anything? Equally as ridiculous.

Why would anybody know anything?

The supporters club have connections within the club, that much is certain. And they don't do wumming. He's met SAF several times. Or he could have got his information from Andy Mitten who writes for the supporters club and have connections both at United and Barca. The latter is most likely I reckon.

Anyway, just thought I'd put it out there.

Yeah sounds likely it could be from Andy Mitten. But then again, how much does Andy Mitten REALLY know? (I like Andy by the way, he comes accross as a decent bloke, but I doubt he knows as much as he thinks he does)

Anyway, I doubt we'd get him for £40M anyway.

This probably should have been the opening bid, if we really wanted barca to take us seriously.

If we buy Fabregas, I'll find a way to email Woodward, and send him a praising email. Every week. You can quote me on that.

IF we buy him, than that would probably have to go down as the best bit of transfer negotiations, ever.

Woodward getting laughed at, ridiculed when in fact, he's been on the money (literally & figuratively) the entire window.

We can only dream.

Moyes says the same things he said in his first press conference. Can't really see anything happening.

What? Why? Did Moyes say something?

When asked about Bale he replied with the ' we are always interested in the best players' speech. Strange though I'd say there's almost a zero chance of this happening.

To be honest it is a joke. Fabregas is not coming.. They're trying to give the fans the impression that they kept trying to sign somebody in the Summer but failed.. Also trying to give the fans something to talk about till the window closes.

Fabregas is where he wants to be, and they want him there. Fellaini is our only reasonable target this Summer, and it looks like we're making a mess of that as well.. Outside chance for Ozil, but don't think it will happen.
