United in this Summer transfer window

Fellaini's problem (like Baines) is that he'd be to expensive. For 24m you can buy a better class of player than him, throw a few million on top of that and you can start negotiating for 'elite' midfielders (Fabregas reported to be available for around 28m for example). Id be gutted if we paid 24m for Fellaini to be honest he's worth nowhere near that.

Didn't Gill recently say that he won't be involved in any transfers this summer now? In that case, I assume our business will officially start when Woodward and Moyes takes over on the 1st of June.

I agree I wouldn't want to pay over 20 for him but the way the market is he would cost that much Everton bought him for 15 he has definitely added 5 million to his value since then.

Come on, a week since the final game and there hasn't been an overdrive worthy rumor yet?

Moyes out.

Moyes doesn't officially take over until JULY 1st. I don't know about Woodward. This is meaningless. The club won't waste over a month. Moyes is already working, Woodward may not be CEO but he already works for United.

Maybe Moyes doesn't want to sign anyone until he atleast has a few training sessions with the players. Atleast give everyone a chance to prove themselves.

Woodward also takes over as CEO July 1st. Obviously they are working on what they need to work on already.

Pre-season starts on the 13th of July, our intentions should be getting deals finalized before then.

the plusses with Fellaini are that he's Premiership proven, would add height and strength to the team, and would stop us looking so vulnerable to...well him!

Negatives, i'm not sure he has the technical or mobility levels to be a regular for us.
He also has that wild streak where he always has a wild swing or an elbow in his locker.

If there was ever a realistic chance of getting Fabregas for anywhere near the fee of Fellaini it wouldn't even be a 2second decision which way to go.

The Sunday Express have rebuffed the idea of Fabregas coming here. There are so few players right now I could think of that I want more that would realistically come here. They should either be true reports or stop messing with my muppetry here! I kind of lost any hope after they reported the fee to be £25 million, big mistake by the tabloid there.

Fellaini would improve us. Yes, there's better out there, but it would be a step in the right direction I think.

I find it funny that last year some super-pro-happy-we-are-perfect-Caftards were slating the fee that Bayern paid for Martinez, yet seemingly have no issue with us spending £24m on Fellaini. Righto.

24 million for an inconsistent player is pretty excessive. Surely worth 17 max! Even that sounds generous!

Not totally on topic, but every time I see Javi Martinez play I die a little inside. He's fecking brilliant.

Just sign somebody, we usually get the business done early on in the summer, has me a bit worried.

Maybe I do not understand the meaning of first option but since Arsenal have first option on Cesc, doesn't that severely reduce the chances of us signing him?

Nah. Still comes down to the player

Whatever agreement Arsenal may or may not have is worthless, Barcelona can't force him to go Arsenal if he doesn't want to, if Fabregas is to leave and wants to go to a team that isn't Arsenal, then simply, he won't go to Arsenal no matter what option Arsenal have on him

First option would make sense if you were a club competing with another club of similar status for a player to come to you. But unluckily for Arsenal they aren't anywhere near what United are nowadays, and I don't see Cesc moving from one of the most successful clubs in Europe to a club that hasn't won anything in 8 years. If he were to move to England, he would be wiser to move to United, City or Chelsea where he will have more success.

Why in the feck would anyone want us to sign Jelavic?

This place has gone absolutely mental.

Looks like all the top european heavyweights are going to make at least one or two big signings each, with the exception of maybe Dortmund.

Hope we get one too but it's extremely rare we get a top, top player. Bale would be so damn perfect for us.

And us.
