The next stage, if you're following my trajectory, is complete disillusionment and disengagement. Cynicism wins out.
I’ve somehow skipped every other stage and landed at this aged 33 1/4.

Anyone reading the last three or so pages of this thread must be at or close to the abject disillusionment stage. The next stage, if you're following my trajectory, is complete disillusionment and disengagement. Cynicism wins out.
I think an entire generation have tbh.I’ve somehow skipped every other stage and landed at this aged 33 1/4.
I'm just surprised they didn't remove the poppy from his jacket and place it under his foot.
I believe Dyson brought out a new sarcasm detector a few weeks ago at a very reasonable price.
Mr Corbyn, what are your views on Brexit?
"Don't know"
Right, you're hired!

It's funny because I always thought people veered more to the right as they got older and more comfortable in life. I guess that's why you lost your job at The Daily Mail though, right? Still trying to figure out which newspaper you work for...Mr Morgan......(?)I'd forgotten about that now you mention it. I can't imagine wanting your byline on that shitshow.
Fair question. I think I was more centre right, but drifted more left as I got older and more comfortable in life -as @Grinner predicted. A combo of Brexit, May, Johnson etc...means I'll never vote Tory ever again.
It's certainly an extreme incarnation, with the purging of the moderates. I can't think of one reasonable MP in the party tbh and that cabinet...
Such as ? I constantly hear about tory moderates all the time(The guardian loves talking about this) but whenever certain moderate names get pulled up, a quick look into their history shows they have been far from moderate even in the conservative sense. To name just a few.The shift to the (further) right, the removal of moderate voices. It seems to me that the party has shut up part of its shop
I veered to the right in my mid to late 20s, when I'd moved to London and started paying taxes. I'm not a greedy, selfish fecker though so I veered back left. It's funny because I always thought people veered more to the right as they got older and more comfortable in life. Amber Rudd - The Windrush scandal and ended up backing a no deal brexit deal
Theresa May - Considered a moderate during the Cameron years and looked where she ended up.
George Osborne - One half of the supposed liberal tory government imposed austerity which ended up giving Leave the win in the referendum.
Philip Lee - Former Tory who left the party to join the lib dem due to the tory policy on Brexit. Supports immigrating being HIV tested before coming into the country.
The rhetoric has of course gone further to the right but overall the policy is very similar to the ''moderate'' days of Cameron(Its gone from standard Thatcherism to Thatcherism mixed with nationalism on steroids). These tory moderates are hardly Angela Merkel.

I've actually written a piece for the Express which is in some ways worse than the DM.
It's like a pound shop version of the DM- all immigrants, Diana and property prices. For some reason I can't remember anything about the Daily Express except the masthead. Was it a Tory redtop?
I know what you mean. Clearly Ken Clarke, Hammond and Gauke, for example, will no doubt have voted for bad stuff if they followed the whip over the years, as was the party norm.Such as ? I used to like reading Today when I was a labourer back in the 80s. It had colour pics in it. Eddy Shah was the owner, I think.
Ah fair enough. I just going off her starting off pro remain but yeah with regards to immigration she was on the more extreme end.I know what you mean. Clearly Ken Clarke, Hammond and Gauke, for example, will no doubt have voted for bad stuff if they followed the whip over the years, as was the party norm.
No-one ever called May a moderate. The above are clearly less odious than Johnson, Raab, IDS, Patel etc...who all voted for the bad stuff with vindictive gusto.
It’s quite hard to have sympathy.Interesting bio
Brexit Party PPC for Crawley. Retired pilot, Scientologist, live in Horsham and love Brexit.

Is there just no standards to campaigning any more? This is Trump level, just missing out on a recession and 0.1% in the last 6 months is "growing strongly" according to Hancock.
Cant watch the video at the moment but was he even challenged? Seems very few political reporters even challenge politicians on the nonsense they spout these days.
And on the other side.
Mr Johnson, what are your views on Brexit?
"Whatever gets me the most money, power and kudos from other middle aged, white public schoolboys and Bullingdon Dining Club members."
To be honest I'm not sure how much sorting is to be done between a socialist (In the positive european sense) party where the only unanswered question is brexit and a neo liberal party who's only answered question is brexit.Labour and Lib dems not being able to sort themselves out is going to result in Tory running away with it when half of the country doesn’t want this outcome. Grim.
