Until the exit polls are out the only thing affecting betting odds are where the bets are going. So not much worth getting excited about.

Agreed. The only people who have a good idea of where things are heading right now are the exit poll team. They're based in a secret location and cannot divulge any data or info until just before 10pm.

Omens look good for Labour. I'd rather a Labour government than a hung parliament, think the country needs a party that can actually govern.

Labour majority currently about 22/1 shot.

The thread title makes me laugh. My intention was to vote Tory, but have stayed home. Shapps is safer than a nun's hymen.

The Conservatives have sent out an email to their supporters this afternoon with the subject: “Labour turnout is high.” It includes a red siren in the subject field.

Here is part of the text of the email, which is signed by Boris Johnson. Are the Tories genuinely worried, or is it just a ploy to ensure their supporters go out and vote?

Yeah small majority for Johnson I think.
Parliament will go back into deadlock when the EU tells us what it wants in return for a free trade deal. Then another election probably.

Just voted against Cairns myself. He's a horrible man, stands for nothing other than his own self interests, and as you say, after the scandal he should have stepped down and long fecked off.

Sadly most of my family trotted out and voted for him, general vibe I've got in the town is nobody likes Johnson but they hate Corbyn.

There are still people betting against a conservative majority. Odds have moved again in the last hour or two, from 4/9 on to 4/7 on. So it's still the favourite, but not by as large a margin.

It was a pain in the bum to do it quite honestly, but we had no other choice as we don't have anyone near our old address who we could have asked to be a proxy.

I have to disagree. Email your council and they’ll send you an application form, post that back, get postal voting pack , fill it out and post that back. You can opt to postal vote on all upcoming elections of all types until further notice on the application form too.

My sister got a Tory email. I know Owen Jones tweet a similar email.

XXXXXXX – our teams on the ground are reporting a high Labour turnout. So have you voted yet? Have your friends and family?

Tomorrow morning, the leader of the country will walk into No10 and put their policies into action.

That leader will either be me – or Jeremy Corbyn.

And right now, the only thing standing between Jeremy Corbyn and Downing Street is you.

So have you voted yet? Have your Conservative friends and family?

This election will come down to a handful of votes. So make sure you get out and vote Conservative!

We’ve only got a few more hours to secure a majority government. It’s all down to you.

Yours sincerely,

Boris Johnson
Prime Minister

Boris gets a small majority. There's a couple of years of failed negotiations with the EU. Another enforced early election. Electable Labour labour next time around. Seems pretty clear to me that outcome would be the fastest possible way for Labour to achieve meaningful power.

A hung parliament is like a small victory but losing the war. Because you can bet watching a Lib Dem/SNP/Labour coalition try to function will push a lot of votes onto the Tories at the next, inevitable, 2020 GE.

Could the conservatives be betting on labour to scaremonger their supporters? Or is that illegal (and way too tinfoil hat)?
