UEFA Champions League Final 2013

Hoping for a Dortmund win personally. Strong club with a great set of fans, and they've played some good football this season. Big question is how will past games effect Bayern, and if so; how badly. If Bayern click, they'll be tough to beat, but I suppose the same could be said of Dortmund. Both sides have match winners, and it should be a good game.

Not really bothered who wins, just want to see a good quality game of football.

Same here. I've been looking forward to this match for quite a while. I don't really mind which team prevails in the end, as long as the game isn't too cagey. It would be a treat if both sides manage to produce some of their characteristic attacking plays in a moderately unrestricted setting.

How will Dortmund line-up for this game?

Weidenfeller
Piszczek Subotic Hummels Schmelzer
Bender Gündogan
Blaszczykowski Reus Großkreutz
Lewandoski

Would definitely rather Dortmund win it. Don't think they'll get another chance for a long, long time.

Has to be Bayern...they've lost 2 finals in 3 years so can't see them letting up.

Definitely want Dortmund to win it, but Bayern just have to dont they? Has any team lost 3 finals in a row?

Thanks for posting this. These highlights are nice, especially seeing the celebrations, which just give you the goose bumps. The music in the Dortmund one is also very powerful. The loser today will be hurtful for sure.

Will be a great game to watch.

Would love to see dortmund win today but they'l have to be at their absolute Best and hope bayern arent. A shame gotze wont be involved.

Gotze definitely not fit?

Had a drink with some Dortmund fans last night. They seem to think that Bayern will win if they play to their 100%, but it they don't then Dortmund could take it. Which is pretty much how I see it. I think Dortmund will take the opportunity if presented to them, but if Bayern play at their maximum they will be too strong.

Either way I want Dortmund to take it.

I think he just means three consecutive finals the team has been involved in, not three consecutive years.

Dortmund please. Huge surprise Götze isnt fit

Yeah, my thoughts, too. But maybe it's for the better. Matthäus gate is still well remembered, even though it happened about 30 years ago. In the DFB cup final, Matthäus was playing for Mönchengladbach against Bayern and about to leave for Bayern Munich in the upcoming season. He missed a penalty and til today many people believe it was on purpose.

Looking through Dortmund's season, especially their CL campaign, Goetze has been a vital cog for them. Even though he didn't score a lot of goals, he was usually supplying the final ball or setting up a teammate to play the final ball. His decision-making and execution in the final third is what Dortmund will miss the most. He sees the opportunity so well and can make that defense-splitting pass.

It's been mentioned before but Dortmund cannot afford to be profligate in front of goal. I wish to find a youtube video highlight Bayern's domestic season in full. From the stats alone and from what I've seen, they're a near perfect team. Not seen a side as ruthless as them this season. Usually once they take the lead, they rarely give it up. In my eyes, Dortmund will have to score first tonight or they could be in for a very long night.

Wow, German SKY started their pre-match build-up for this game four (!) hours ago - biggest game for German football since the World Cup final in 1990.

Owomoyela - one of his teammates - talked about Götze and how bad he feels that he can't play. He risked a lot to get back into training that early after his injury, probably made it even worse now, tried everything he could because he wanted to help his team win the CL and prove to the Dortmund fans that right now there's nothing more important for him than winning that title against Bayern.

To suggest that a 20 year old player deliberately misses the biggest game of his life is just stupid. Everyone knows he's not coming to Bayern because of his undying love for the club, he made a choice for his career and that's it. He wouldn't have been treated as badly as for example Neuer after his transfer, even if he scored in the final and helped Dortmund win.

It's just a sad story but fans love to spin conspiracy theories and twist the realitiy so that it fits into their hate for certain teams or players. That's sad as well, imo.

I don't think that's necessarily what he was suggesting. Dortmund could have decided it's best not to pick him in the circumstances.

FFS that is just mental and that is with on a few Hundred fans there, what's it going to be like with 10's of thousands.
Watching SSN and it looks ok, they're all walking down Wembley Way without any trouble.

Some football fans think they're the dog's bollocks - and yet most of them can't even fight. Fling out a leg while flinching - it's probably a good thing they can't do anything else to be honest. Otherwise there would be more fan injuries.

Even if they didn't want to put him in the starting lineup it still would've made sense to stick him on the bench so they still have the option to bring him on when they're desperate. I'm sure a lot of people at the club are very angry at him, but I doubt they'd gift Bayern (of all clubs) the CL because of that.

I'm sure that Götze did everything he could to be match fit, but honestly if he cared about Dortmund's fans he would not have blatantly lied into their faces.

I dont think so. It's just an insane amount of media coverage because both teams are German and with the Götze and Lewandowski story it's easy to sell anything. But outside of the media any hard knockout game for Germany (at least since 2006) has been bigger imo.

It's sad to see those idiots put German fans in a bad light and I hope those guys will follow the match from outside the stadium, but in the end those are just a couple of idiots. The vast majority of fans is not interested in violence.

I agree. I don't like the way it all went down and especially how he acted towards Klopp. I just wrote what Owomoyela said on Sky.

Again, I agree. The world cup final in 02 and the Euro win in 96 were easily bigger, the Euro final in 2008 as well. Germany can't loose tonight anyway, well as long as the fans don't do anything stupid and Klopp and Sammer don't start a brawl during the game.

No idea if this has been posted anywhere yet but;

All the pressure's on Bayern again. Most people expect them to win. They've been relentless this season.

I've got a soft spot for Dortmund though. I wouldn't mind seeing an upset, with a great match all around.
