UEFA Champions League 18/19 Matchday 2 fixtures (2nd - 3rd October 2018)

Not happy with Kovac?
Pretty much everything going as I expected. It's not just the appointment of Kovac, also our transfers. The entirety of it amounts to an announcement of retirement from the top of the competition and making the Bundesliga interesting again, by becoming average.

I’d really like to know who was the Valencia employee that decided it was a good idea to buy Piccini to be their starting rightback

Carvajal injured. They had a bad start, and again my reiterative posts demanding minutes for Mariano and Vini

It does feel quite a bit like the good old complatency Bayern used to get in certain years in the past. Their transfer dealings were not only uninspiring but IMO downright risky. Their squad depth is really not much to write home about.

What on earth has Lukaku done so far? Lost every header, beaten with ball at his feet, no movement etc, etc. I’d like to see us play without him with Rashford and Martial up front. Doubt it will happen as Jose always likes a lump up front. Chelsea loanee Batshuayi having more influence for them than Lukaku.

This is all true but he's so fecking isolated, this obviously doesn't excuse some of his play but you really can't expect much when your striker is getting this level of service. At Everton he had all the same weaknesses but was scoring goals (because he was being fed!) so it was less of a big deal.

Maybe Bayern finally will get their punishment for their transfer politic.

It's our new level.

You will win this game in the end, but I have to say I'm very proud how my team (Ajax) is playing this game. I know we don't have the quality of a team like Bayern, but we're not scared and try to play football.

United-Valencia has been a terrible game of football by both teams.

Valencia’s decision making in the final third has been atrocious. The likes of Guedes and Rodrigo seem like they’re playing with no confidence.

Not a surprise there are no goals since Mourinho and Marcelino are the managers but this has been awful. Can’t even think of one good chance.

That Bailly effort was memorable.

Noticed myself the lack of people at the Lyon's game, too.

Watching at the moment Man Utd - Valencia, it hurts to support Man Utd these days.

Real Madrid going exactly how I thought they would under Lopetegui.

If asensio doesn't wake up soon we're royally fecked until Bale comes back. Benzema and Lucas V should be dropped for the next 100 games or so
